🩶 Refresh Those Wood Floors! 🤎

Do your wood floors need a bit of a lift?

No problem!

We recently completed a sanding project at a family home in Kings Hill, Kent, where the client wanted to freshen up their floors.

There was a lot of ingrained dirt and scratches in the busy walkways so getting the floors looking ‘as new’ would be the dream!

The boards are engineered oak and had been sanded previously - you’ll note a picture of scratches from when they were sanded using a hire machine - so, we had to be mindful of the wear layer remaining.

We got to work and carried out a first sand to remove the existing finish, dents and scratches and worked our way up the grits to leave a lovely smooth surface.

Once the floor was ready, we applied a coat of Bona Classic UX followed by two coats of Traffic HD. The Traffic HD is perfect for a busy family home and, when used alongside the Bona spray mop, the floor will be easy to maintain.

🩶 Travertine Refresh Time 🤎

Having natural stone tiles in your home really does give a ‘wow!’ factor to any room, but keeping the tiles clean over time can be a bit of a challenge.

Ingrained dirt in the tiles and grout can cause frustration ….. all you want is your beautiful floors back!

Our client in Sevenoaks had a similar problem and, after carrying out a fantastic decorating project in the kitchen and dining room, the floors were the final piece of the puzzle!

So, after protecting the surfaces, we carried out a deep clean of the tiles and grout before polishing the surface with diamond pads to a satin finish. The polishing takes away any small scratches and imperfections whilst also rejuvenating the floor.

Once dry, we applied a coat of a water and oil repellent seal which sits in the tiles and grout which will help the client keep the floor looking great for longer.

With the decorating complete and the floors restored, the family can enjoy their kitchen just in time for Christmas! 🎄

🩶 A Floor Fit For A Family 🤎

We recently completed this wood floor restoration project for a lovely family near Sevenoaks.

After a leaking roof and, incredibly, water stains from a whirlpool bath which the previous owners had in the room, the floor was in a bit of a state. And, with a young family, it was important to try and get a nice environment for the children to play in.

So, we started by sanding away the damage on the surface to see what we had to deal with.

As you can see there was a water stain where the whirlpool bath was so we used Osmo Tannin Stain Remover which did an incredible job! After neutralising the treated area, we continued the sanding process before applying Bona Classic UX and finishing with two coats of Bona Evo.

The transformation was incredible and we’re really pleased to have helped towards giving the family a room they can enjoy as they continue their decorating.

🤎 Wow! What A Difference! 🩶

A beautiful herringbone floor at a family home near Tenterden.

Really well used and loved by the owners but, after years of busy footfall, it was time to give the floor one hell of a boost. And what a boost it got!

🩶 A Fresh Floor For The Village Hall 🤎

An EXCITING week this week, where we have restored the floors at Weavering Village Hall!

The hall is in constant use with the array of clubs and classes which use the building day in, day out, and the floor was in desperate need of some TLC.

We sanded away the existing finish and line markings to reveal a fresh surface, primed the floor before Lines Direct popped in to re-paint the badminton court, which looks great!

We then applied two coats of Bona Traffic HD which will provide a solid and easy to maintain surface.

What a difference!

The renovation cost a fraction of replacing the floor and caused minimal disruption to the clubs. A great investment!

This was a REALLY enjoyable job which we completed today near Maidstone.

As part of freshening up their home, the client asked us to renovate their pine floor boards and give that cosy feeling to their rooms.

The varnished boards were absorbing the natural light but after a thorough sand, applying a primer followed by two coats of hard wearing topcoat, the rooms became bright and airy!
