VW Golf TDi 🚘

This vehicle needed a good clean inside and out due to being a run around for the children. The outside had lots of tree sap, bird poo and all sorts on it! The inside seats needed a good going over with the Vax machine.

We started with the outside as it’s so warm at the moment. First was some fall out remover on the wheels and then some citrus cleaner on the body. This will break down contaminants on both the wheels and the paintwork. To let it set, we snow foamed a good thick layer on top and let it dwell for 20 minutes. Then it needed a power wash which got most of the dirt and grime off.

The wheels needed to be cleaned four times in order to get them to a good standard. Original wheels will take a long time to clean if they haven’t been treated well in the past. Then the body got a wash down twice with a strong shampoo and thick wash mitt. A tar remover was used on the sides of the vehicle to eliminate any black spots of tar.

Once this was done, and after a full rinse, the car was dried and a lime scale remover quick detailer was applied. This eliminates any water spots and streaking. The tyres had some tyre shine applied to finish off the outside.

The inside had a good vacuum and brush out and then it was onto the Vax machine for the seats. This is a very simple but long process. Extracting dirt from seats is always satisfying so we don’t mind doing it! The mats had the same treatment along with the boot liner. Then once the plastics were dressed and windows cleaned, she was ready to roll.

This Golf was a pleasure to work on and in great condition for the age. It’s such a shame that the front and rear bumpers have suffered from lacquer peel πŸ˜” but the owner is sorting this in a few weeks.

Range Rover Velar R Dynamic πŸš™

Unfortunately this vehicle was damaged by what we think was a shopping trolley. It looked like a rub by something plastic and with a consistent line at the same height, it had to be. Just goes to show that you cannot have anything nice and keep it that way. Careless people πŸ˜”

And so onto the repair. The vehicle needed to be prepped first. This consisted of a wash, iron fallout remover, tar and glue remover and a clay bar. You can see how much the clay bar picked up! This made the paintwork very smooth and easier to work with the DA polisher. 🧼

To get the rub out we used Meguiars Ultimate Compound on a hard pad on a high setting. After a few passes you could see that this was going to do the trick πŸ‘ŒπŸ» result.

After a little while we managed to eliminate the rub. So then it was onto the refinement stage. We used Menzerna 3800 compound on a medium pad on a medium setting. This really set the paintwork off, giving back the shine it so desperately needed ✨

After the refining was done, we applied a coat of Meguiars Gold Class Wax to keep the shine lasting longer and to add a little protection to the paint. The area is now smooth as silk to the touch. πŸ‘ŒπŸ»

We know that the rest of the vehicle was not prepped or finished in our normal way, this will be done at a later date. However the client wanted the rub removed first as it was an eyesore.

Porsche 718 Boxster S

What a machine! 😍

We have previously given this car a quick wash two years ago and have been itching to get back to it to give it a good going over. 🧼

The vehicle has only done 8k miles in the past four years so it should come up like new. And that is what we have achieved. It still took a good few hours to do but well worth it. ✨

There wasn’t any real detail that needed to be done on the vehicle. Just a very good wash from top to toe. The frunk (front trunk) and boot were emptied along with all the little stowage compartments in the door cards and centre console. The leather seats were cleaned and a leather balm was applied to them giving them a dull sheen and supple feel again. The steering wheel, gear k**b, centre console, dash and door cards all had the same treatment. Lots of leather to look after. Both mats were vacuumed and washed.

The outside was fairly straightforward apart from the soft top roof. This needs extra care and will be treated again in better weather. The wheels came up very well, with the brake dust being completely eradicated. The body is in very good condition and will get a premium wax applied in the spring.

After all the little dressings were applied, it was time to stand back and admire the vehicle. You just can’t help it! 😊

The owner is over the moon with the results and with her husband treating her for her birthday, didn’t mind him paying! πŸ˜†

If you have a birthday coming up or anniversary or even going to a wedding, please get in touch and we shall accommodate your needs.

πŸ›» Land Rover Discovery - Part 2; After

This vehicle came to us wanting some much needed love and attention. The overall vehicle was in good condition for its age but the client wanted it back to its former glory! ✨

(This will have to be in two sections as there are so many photos πŸ“·)

We started off by assessing what the vehicle needed. The outside certainly in need of a full decontamination which involves using products to remove road grime, tar and iron fillings which come from the brake pads. After that was done, the whole vehicle was clay barred to achieve that smooth paintwork. Once that was done it was all about refining the shine. πŸ‘ŒπŸ»

Machine polishing a vehicle takes a long time because you are using different pads and different compounds to achieve the highest possible outcome. You also have to be careful not to damage the paint and clear coat which can easily be done on softer paints. To stop any unwanted compound on the trims, we have to mask up the areas that were not being treated at the time. Once all this was done, a good layer of wax was applied to the paintwork with the black trims getting a good dose of trim restorer. Just the machine polishing alone took around 10 hours to do. 😳

Now that the outside was finished, it was onto the inside.

The cream leather was in desperate need of a deep clean and some rejuvenater applied to give it that soft feel again. This again takes along time but really worth it. These are the areas that you touch everyday so they do need to be clean and smooth to the touch.

The carpets had a full wet vacuum from front to back including the tailgate! The mats were rubber so they were cleaned and s dressing applied to them. Next it was the roof lining. Being a light colour you could see all of the dirt marks near the grab handles and around the boot area. With the liner, you can’t use a wet vacuum on as it will saturate the lining and cause it to sag. So a microfibre and tooth brush is needed to agitate the dirt and lift it away using a dedicated fabric cleaner.

The plastics around the centre console received a good brush out then a wipe down with an interior cleaner. The windows were cleaned and some tyre dressing applied to finish off the look. Much fresher.

The client left the vehicle with us for 3 weeks as he was off to get married! So congratulations to the happy couple. He couldn’t believe what was achieved to his vehicle once he returned. A true transformation. πŸ‘πŸ»

All in all we reckon we spent around 27-28 hours on this vehicle. Which does sound a lot but we hope the results speak for themselves.

If you would like the same or similar treatments for your vehicle then please do get in contact πŸ‘‡πŸ»

It was a Ferrari 360 Modena F1 with some tasteful modifications. A set of Challenge Stradale wheels and a Challenge Stradale exhaust which sounds insane! What a car! 😍

We have a very good friend and fellow detailer coming to visit us this Sunday. We are making the trip up to Eastwood Park for a local car meet. https://fb.me/e/9W81UH69y Say Hi πŸ‘‹πŸ» if you see us around.

But can you guess which car we are going up in? πŸ€”

With the weather being all over the place, it does make it hard to detail a vehicle outside. β˜”οΈ However, it does give a great opportunity to show off some natural beading! πŸ’¦

Land Rover Discovery in for a full decontamination, machine polish and a leather clean inside. This should be fun! ✨
