So my good deed for the day yesterday was to rescue a racing pigeon that I found resting on our garden furniture at home. The bird was extremely tired and had possibly had a mild run in with a sparrow hawk.
With the kind help of an animal rescue neighbour Dorothy Lee we tracked down the owner of the bird who is in Lowestoft. Turns out the bird had flown from Grantham in Lincolnshire, and had got blown off course in the winds earlier in the week. He / she will be picked up at the weekend by a thankful owner and in the meantime has been resting up at the Lee household regaining its strength. 😊
