Getting ready for your clean - FAQs!

New to having a cleaner, or thinking about booking and not sure what you need to do before we arrive?

Here are a few quick answers to the questions we’re asked most often about getting ready for your clean:

1. Do I need to tidy first?
A quick general tidy (toys off the floor, surfaces roughly cleared) really helps our team focus on the cleaning itself, rather than moving lots of items around. It doesn’t need to be perfect, that’s what we’re here for!

2. What should I do with pets?
We’re very used to working in busy family homes with dogs and cats. Just let us know in advance what pets you have and any special instructions (for example if a door must stay shut, or if your dog is nervous with visitors).

3. Do I need to be at home?
Many of our clients are at work while we clean. We can work while you’re out, using your preferred key arrangements, and you come home to a freshly cleaned house.

Bleach can be a powerful product… but most people use it wrong.

Here are the 3 biggest mistakes we see all the time:

❌ Using bleach to 'clean'
Bleach disinfects, it doesn't actually clean dirt or grease. If the surface isn't cleaned first, the bleach can't work properly.

❌ Using too much
More bleach doesn't mean better results. In fact, it can leave strong fumes and residue behind.

❌ Mixing bleach with other products
This is a big one. Mixing bleach with other cleaning products can create dangerous fumes.

We don't have bleach in our cleaning kits as we are there to clean and that's not what bleach is for.
