Does your kitchen end up looking like this every other day, no matter how much you try to keep it tidy? 🤯
Honestly, it's so easily done... And even just looking at it can be overwhelming, let alone trying to figure out where to start!
📝 Whenever I feel like that, I like to use decluttering tips from Kc Davis. Here's how I go about tidying a very messy kitchen:
1. Throw any rubbish or dried on food in the bin.
2. Put as many dishes as I can in the dishwasher.
3. Put away the things that belong in the kitchen cupboards.
4. Create a pile of things that need to be taken to other rooms.
4. Gather the remaining dishes in one spot and clean the sink.
5. If I have enough time/energy (‼️), hand-wash the remaining dishes. If not, stack them up on the side of the sink.
6. Wipe down the counters.
7. If I feel like it, put the things away in other rooms ‼️
Notice, that I don't always clean the space to perfection. More often than not, I leave some dishes on the side (do you have those annoying items that you just hate cleaning?).
☕️But as long as I have a clean cup for my morning coffee, I don't mind having a few dirty bottles on the side of the sink. As long as there is enough clean counter space for me to make lunch for the kids, that pile of letters can wait to be opened for another few days.
⭐️ Perfection isn't the goal, a functional space is!
