📢 Letter of Support Request

We are currently in the process of registering our new charity, Home Reset Scotland, and are looking for a kind and supportive Social Worker, Housing Officer, or other housing professional who may be willing to provide a brief letter of support for our application.

Home Reset Scotland aims to support individuals and families moving into accommodation after experiencing homelessness, hardship, or housing instability. Our goal is to help create safe, comfortable, and dignified homes by providing essential household items and practical support during what can be a very challenging transition.
As part of this support, Patersons Pro Cleaning Edinburgh Ltd will also be assisting where possible, helping people make a fresh start in a clean, welcoming home environment.

A letter of support from a professional who understands the need for services like ours would greatly strengthen our charity registration application and help demonstrate the positive impact we hope to make within our communities.
We have already reached out to a couple of professionals but, unfortunately, have not heard back. We thought we would ask here as well in the hope that someone may be willing to help or point us in the right direction.
We are fortunate to already have some wonderful trustees supporting us through the registration process. However, we would also be happy to hear from anyone who may be interested in becoming involved as a trustee and helping us grow Home Reset Scotland into a charity that can make a meaningful difference across our communities.

Sensitive post💚

We were called to carry out a sensitive clearance and deep clean following a very sad passing.❤️‍🩹

Our team carefully removed some furniture, personal belongings, rubbish, and outdated food items, along with completing several charity shop runs for items that could still be reused. We then carried out a full deep clean throughout the property. Everything was handled with dignity, care, and respect at every stage.

Situations like these are never easy for families, and we always aim to provide a compassionate, discreet service during difficult times.

We are honestly so grateful for the amount of kind-hearted people who continue to support both us and our clients 💚

So many amazing donators have reached out over time to help people in need, and while we already put endless hours in for free, the support and encouragement we receive truly goes such a long long way.
The kindness we see every single day honestly From donations, messages of support, sharing posts, and simply believing in what we’re trying to achieve we genuinely can’t thank you all enough.

Because of that encouragement, we’re in the process of finding the right fundraiser platform, which will help us raise funds to support even more of our clients who are struggling and in need of help.
This is exactly why we cannot wait to officially get our charity up and running. Our goal has always been to help as many people as possible, and with the right support and funding in place, we’ll be able to reach so many more people who need us.

Granted approval from client for sharing pictures and story.
This one truly touched us to the core. 💜
We were called to help a very vulnerable elderly client who had been living alone in a rural area for decades, with no family and no support around them. Thankfully, a kind postal worker raised the alarm because no one knew the conditions this person had been surviving in every single day.
The kitchen and bathroom were located down in the basement… and what we found is honestly something we will never forget.
Years of severe leaks, thick build-up of soil and waste, rat infestation, damp, darkness and conditions so unsafe and heartbreaking that it’s difficult to put into words. We had to wear full PPE and wellies while shovelling out years of build-up by hand.
What broke us the most was seeing our client still climbing down there daily to use the toilet navigating those conditions because it had simply become their normal. Nobody should ever have to live like that.
Sadly, nothing could be salvaged. Our client had become emotionally attached to many belongings over the years, so it was upsetting for them to see everything go, but the property was simply too badly affected.
After the leak was finally repaired, we returned to the property and could not believe the difference. The basement had dried out so much you could physically feel the change in the air.
Then came the lovely part. 💜
Some incredibly kind people donated a brand new table, some chairs and a few household essentials that were going to be disposed of. Daniel built the table for our client, and the smile on their face said it all.
The client kept asking, “How much?” and could hardly believe it when we explained it was all completely free.
We even brought along a washing-up bowl… which happened to be their favourite colour purple. 💜
Moments like this remind us why we do what we do.

One thing that also meant so much to us was when the client mentioned they had seen us featured in the newspaper.🥹
Please, always check in on elderly neighbours, relatives or anyone living alone. Sometimes people suffer in silence for far too long.
And to the postal worker who spoke up thank you. You changed someone’s life.💜🫶🏼

⚠️⚠️Property abandoned ⚠️⚠️
One of the more challenging jobs we get to attend. The smell upon entry was instantly overpowering, and full PPE is always required due to the biohazard conditions present.
Our team carried out a full professional clean and disposal process, ensuring all bodily fluids were safely disposed of down the toilet and all bottles were removed and disposed of correctly and professionally.

Jobs like this highlight the importance of proper sanitation, safety procedures, and treating every environment with care and respect. 💪🧼

⚠️Before sharing these photos, we want to make it very clear that we have full approval from the client to post both the before and after images.

We also kindly ask that there are no negative or judgemental comments ❌❌
So many people are silently battling things others cannot see whether that be health struggles, grief, trauma, mental health, or simply trying to cope with life. We all handle difficult times differently.

Our job is never to shame or criticise. It is to help, support, restore, and treat every person with dignity and compassion.💚🫶🏼💚

This lovely client now has support in place, and we truly hope it continues long term. Of course, we are always here if needed, but it’s never easy having to revisit someone who is struggling. Our goal is always for our clients to feel safe, supported, and able to manage with the right love and help around them after we leave although sadly, life does not always work out that way.

We also organised for the old mattress to be disposed of and arranged delivery of a brand new one. After the very first night sleeping on it, the client said: “Never slept better…it was wonderful!”

We also helped remove some furniture from another property and, instead of disposing of it, we kindly asked if it could be donated. The client was so happy, especially with it being a recliner chair, which will make such a difference mobility-wise.

So thankful we could help make a positive impact 💛

💚Full permission granted 💚
“Not every clean starts with trust…”

We were contacted by a family member who lived some distance away about helping their elderly relative who had been struggling to keep on top of things at home.
But this one was different.
Before any work was booked in, we first attended to carry out a quote.
And when we arrived… you could feel it straight away.
They were uneasy Quiet & Unsure.
And we understood why….
They had a bad experience with cleaners a number of years ago …. and it had stayed with them.

So for them, letting people back into their home…
wasn’t just about cleaning.

It was about trust 🤝

We didn’t rush in.
We didn’t overwhelm them.

We took our time… had a conversation…
explained everything clearly, step by step.
At first, they kept their distance watching closely.
You could see the hesitation.

But slowly… that started to change.

A few words turned into conversation.
Conversation turned into a bit of laughter.

And by the time we left that first visit…
Something had shifted.
When we returned to carry out the clean,
the client was actually out on the first day…
and part of the second day as well.

But when they came back…
the atmosphere was completely different.

They were more at ease. Talking,Smiling.
Even sharing stories with us as we worked.

And that moment right there…

That’s what this is really about.❤️‍🩹

It’s not just cleaning a space.
It’s helping someone feel safe in their own home again.🏡💚

Because sometimes…
the biggest thing we restore…

is trust.🤝❤️‍🩹💚
