It was fantastic to see so many well-loved clothes given a new lease of life at last week's Textile Repair Café! 🧵

One participant even got to transform an old shirt into a new waistcoat, and pick up some sewing machine skills along the way!

A huge thanks to everyone who came along and made it such a lovely session.

Our Textile Repair Café is back on Tuesday, and we'd love to see you there. If you have an item that needs repairing, then bring it in and we'll help! If not, no worries, just come along and pick up some useful sewing, mending and upcycling skills. You're even welcome to just pop in for a tea and a chat!

Did you know that we run free group coaching sessions? If you're feeling anxious, overwhelmed and struggling to move forward, then these sessions may benefit you.

Our supportive wellbeing coach will work with you as part of the group to help you build the skills and confidence to make positive lifestyle changes, manage your emotions effectively, improve your relationships, and shift your mindset.

🕙️ 10am - 12pm
🎟️ Free. No need to book. Hot drinks and cake provided at the start of each session.

These sessions are for adults living with long term conditions, disabilities, and mental health challenges.

⭐️ Wester Hailes Open Exhibition 2026 – Submit Your Artwork ⭐️

We are delighted to announce that the Wester Hailes Open Exhibition is back! The exhibition will be held here at WHALE Arts and will run from 23rd October.

This year's theme is 'Our Stories' - a celebration of the people, places and experiences that make our community what it is. Anyone who lives or works in Wester Hailes is invited to submit artwork for display at the exhibition.

Please get in touch to find out more and let us know what you would like to submit.

🌿 Last week's Foraging Friday 💚

We enjoyed a really lovely session making salad boxes and herb butter. Thank you to Edinburgh Agroecology Coop for the wonderful produce.

It was great afternoon, and we've got another one lined up! Come along tomorrow as we'll be decorating cupcakes with edible flowers and making tea using fresh garden herbs.

We're sadly saying goodbye to Craig, Digital Inclusion Lead at WHALE Arts, as he's moving on to new adventures. Craig has been part of the team since 2015 and will be much missed by everyone at WHALE Arts and at his Digital Drop In's across Wester Hailes. We wish him all the very best for the future.

We're now looking for someone to carry on Craig's work helping people access technology with this part time Digital Inclusion role.

at WHALE Arts

Creative Electric’s bubble doctors prescribe a short stay in one of their infamous bubble beds. Put on your wireless headphones, listen to our track, & watch your anxiety float away as bubbles slowly fill the air.

In collaboration with Refuweegee, Burst is available in Arabic, Farsi, Ukrainian & English.

This show is open to all, children must be accompanied by an adult.

You are welcome to come along to take part in the creative activity or just enjoy a cup of tea.
It is a relaxed session.

Drop-in, you can come for as much of the session as you like.

There's still time to sign up to Monday's 'Mums with Little Ones' session!

Come along, join in with a relaxed creative activity, meet other local mums, and enjoy a cuppa and a chat. Children can either create alongside you, or have fun with our creche team.

'Mums with Little Ones' is a free social and creative group aimed at mums with children under the age of 7, however, if you wish to bring along an older child, please get in touch.

We've got two more sessions coming up:
