When I first started the business, I had a clear vision of what I wanted to build, but I underestimated how important the back-end systems would become. In the early days, everything was very manual and personal, every client email, every update, every process was done individually because building trust and relationships was the priority.
As the business has grown, I’ve realised how valuable strong systems and structure are. Things like templates, workflows, and processes now allow us to respond much faster, stay consistent, and give clients a much better experience overall.
Looking back, I wish I’d understood earlier that putting those systems in place doesn’t take away the personal touch, it actually creates more space to focus on the relationships and the bigger vision of the business.
Have systems and structure changed the way you run your business?
