Another case file…
A customer brought in a brand new pastel jumper after washing it with the black paper tags still attached 😬
Unfortunately, the dye from the tags bled straight into the fabric. To make matters worse, they tried to remove the dye with Vanish before bringing it in.
Here’s the problem: products like Vanish can set the pH of a stain, which makes it much harder for professional spotters to work. Our stain-removal system relies on a pH-based process, using a sequential treatment chart that moves from the most likely solution to progressively stronger options.
Because the dye had already been set, traditional stain removal wasn’t possible.
So we took a different approach.
We dyed the entire jumper a darker shade to restore a clean, wearable finish. Interestingly, the stitching didn’t take the dye, which left a subtle contrast detail that actually gives the jumper a unique look.
Another problem solved.
