š„ MYTH #3: AREN'T WOOD BURNERS BANNED? NO.
Despite some of the headlines you may have seen, wood-burning stoves are not banned in Scotland.
In fact, following a review of Scotlandās New Build Heat Standard, regulations were changed from 1 January 2025 to permit wood-burning stoves in new homes and buildings.
There are still rules around where and how a stove can be installed, which appliances can be used and what you can burn ā particularly in Smoke Control Areas.
But thatās very different from a ban.
If youāve been thinking about a wood burner but have been put off by something youāve read or heard, donāt let the headlines make the decision for you.
At CleanBurn, weāll check what applies to your property and location and explain your options clearly.
