🎄 CHRISTMAS 🎄

The festive season is upon us.

For many of us it is a time to celebrate family and friendships, love and happiness, joy and faith.

For many of us it is extremely overwhelming.

For many of us it is a lonely period.

What matters is you look after yourself.

The pressures of life in general can be hard to cope with but throw in presents, food, days out and treats...this can be life changing for people both mentally and financially.

Be kind.

Be grateful.

Be there.

As always, my phone is on, my dm's are open and my emails accessible if you need a chat, a greet, a moan or just a silly conversation.

I've spoken with so many wonderful humans over the years that have reached out over Christmas and I am not an advisor or a therapist but I am a friend and an ear to bend.

It really is so important to talk, regardless of the time of year.

Keep that heart warm, find happiness in your solitude and you always have a friend in me.

Hello everyone!

As most of you know, I stopped ironing for a long time due to my eczema, which hasn't really improved.

I have only managed to keep a couple of customers on who are physically unable to iron themselves, due to my skin but also as I work full time in my other job.

I haven't been able to access my business suite (messenger) for this page for months as I seem to have been blocked on it for some reason 😭 so if you've sent a message please accept my apologies for not replying 😕

My wee ironing business has kept me busy for nearly a decade and I thank everyone for their custom!

I cannot commit to any new customers at this time but there some some amazing businesses in the local area who provide this service!

Sadly, on the 10th April 2023, my lovely friend, Ian, passed away.

It has been an incredibly difficult time for his closest friends who have been doing everything they can to ensure Ian gets the funeral he so deserves.

For me personally, I am honoured to be able to conduct Ian's funeral and I cannot thank the Thistle Ceremonies Thistle Ceremonies SCIO Thistle Humanists family enough for being able to donate a large portion of funds to help towards the costs.

Ian's dear friend, Wendy, has set up a gofund to help assist with the monies needed to honour Ian.

I actually cannot believe how lucky I have been this year conducting 111 ceremonies.

🔸️ 105 weddings
🔸️ 4 naming days
🔸️ 1 vow renewal
🔸️ 1 funeral for Steve 💚

When I typed in 111, this wonderful little meaning appeared and I've never read anything so fitting!

The tears are flowing reminiscing about this past year, my 5th year as a celebrant and my first year with the magical team at Thistle Ceremonies who are just the best.

Being a part of Thistle really is a 2nd family. We are all equals who support, care for and encourage each other and being a registered charity is WILD! Like WOW!

When you book me as your celebrant, a percentage of the money goes towards our charity to help tackle funeral poverty so THANK YOU 😊

I will never ever take for granted how lucky I am to do this job.

I've married so many amazing people this year, from Mr & Mrs Meach in January to Mr & Mrs Alexander this week!

I've helped families celebrate new life with naming days and also the most amazing adoption ceremony for gorgeous Christian 💙

In May, my darling family lost their beloved Steve. They have shown such strength this year and I hope you all realise how amazing you are! I will forever hold dear the chat I had with Steve planning his celebration of life and thankful I could lead his funeral service 💚

I've climbed mountains, strolled along beaches, explored heritage sites, visited many hotels, barns, bars, marquees, gardens and taken HUNDREDS of TERRIBLE TOILET SELFIES 🤳 😀 🚽🚾

I've worked 70 hour weeks to ensure every single ceremony is unique and bespoke and always memorable with lots of love, giggles, crazy and joy mixed in!

Thank you to the fantastic WEDDING SUPPLIERS I have worked alongside this year.I've made amazing friends along the way and we are all a little bonkers 🤣

To my friends and family...thank you for your support and understanding! I LOVE YOU and without you this ain't possible ❤️

So here is to 2023...𝟭𝟬𝟮 ceremonies booked in and I'm blown away!

Today we went to Perth Theatre and Concert Hall to see Jack & The Beanstalk.

We treated Jackie to a day out and the kids have already asked her to join us again next year...sorry Jackie 🤣🤣

Jackie has been my I Love Lucy's customer since day one 8 years ago and we have built a wonderful friendship.

We all feel very blessed to know you Jackie and thanks for our Xmas treats.

And yes I had to post on Facebook 🤣🤣🌲🧑‍🎄💕 (sorry, not sorry)

I can't wait to make memories with these 4 little (not so little) humans of mine this festive season.

Sorry for the lack of posts everyone.

Ughhhh hospital treatment started today.

The tablets are making me feel as sick as sh*e...like carrying a bairn all over again 🤢🤣

Have to keep these uv specs on all day but thank you to my lovely friend Leona for telling me what 'stylish' ones to buy 🤣

And for answering my 1 million questions about the treatment.

One day I may have photogenic hands that can get back to pressing garments! 🤚✋️🖐🙋‍♀️

Hello everyone 🥰

Unfortunately after my hands being almost back to normal, the course of oral steroids ended and I'm back to square one.

I was at the hosp again this week and will be starting new treatments soon.

Thank you for understanding and your patience but I can't risk over using my paws until they start to get better.

As soon as I get my hands back to working order I'll be back to pressing your garments.

Good evening everyone.

Unfortunately after an emergency appointment at Dermatology this afternoon, I have been advised to avoid ironing work for 4 weeks and may need to have a wee stint in hospital if the meds prescribed today don't kick in in the next 48 hours.

Sadly, this means I have to let you all down and as a self employed person, this is just soul destroying :(

I've tried to battle with my skin but I have to listen to the professionals now and take time to heal.

If I can get back to work before mid November I will be sure to contact you all but sadly the next 3 weeks or so will be popped on hold.

Please bear with me and my awful hands.
