Want brighter whites? Here’s what most people get wrong.
At Julie’s Cleaning & Laundry Services, one of the most common issues we see isn’t poor-quality clothing - it’s poor washing technique.
If your whites are looking dull or grey, check these three things:
1️⃣ Don’t overload the drum.
Clothes need space to move freely so water and detergent can circulate properly. When the drum is too full, dirt gets redistributed instead of removed.
2️⃣ Use the correct detergent for whites.
Colour detergents are designed to protect pigments. They won’t keep whites bright. A dedicated whites detergent contains optical brighteners that help maintain clarity and freshness.
3️⃣ Dry in natural sunlight when possible.
Sunlight acts as a gentle, natural brightener and can help lift mild discolouration over time.
