For those that already know me, you’ll know that I’m a little mad, but this is a trait passed down to me by none other than my mother, Cindy.
Most are blessed enough to be touched by grief at some point in their life, and I say blessed because isn’t it somewhat fortunate to have known someone so special that it hurts so much to lose them? A bittersweet fortune.
Claire Goldsmith was an incredibly special person. My mum’s best friend, my best friends mum, a beautiful, talented, ambitious woman, wife, mother. Her death was a tragic loss to so many, so much pain and grief intermixed with so many wonderful happy memories.
We deal with grief in a variety of ways. For some it’s talking, being surrounded by friends and family, maybe writing journals, perhaps burying ourselves in work and keeping exhaustingly occupied, or for some, doing extreme challenges. For my mother, Cindy, it’s a long (very very long) multi-day bike ride across the length of the UK from Lands End to John O’Groats. 🚴♀️

Every donation in support of this crazy ride will help so many through aiding the incredible charity ‘Winston’s Wish’ who support children and their families following the death of a parent, sibling or important person.
