🐀 CCTV Drain Surveys - A Vital Part of Effective Rat Control!
One of the most valuable tools we use during rat investigations is our CCTV drain inspection service. It’s often the quickest way to identify hidden defects and locate rodent ingress points that would otherwise remain unseen.
Mark is a certified CCTV drain surveyor with years of experience tracing underground drainage systems, locating blind junctions, identifying defective pipework tracking rat activity below ground.
As the photo shows if you’re seeing house foundations during a drain inspection, it’s usually not a good sign! 😂
On this survey we identified what appeared to be the primary fault on a shared rainwater line where a connection had been tapped into the centre of the chamber. To the left and right of this connection were two separate SVP connections serving neighbouring properties.
The defect had deteriorated significantly leaving a large void and direct access into the surrounding ground.
Unfortunately this wasn’t the only issue, both SVP connections also showed open joints creating multiple potential ingress and egress points for rats throughout the drainage system.
With several defects identified on the same line rats had numerous opportunities to enter and leave the drainage network, making long-term control extremely difficult without remedial works being completed.
Repairs have now been planned to fully protect this property and prevent future infestations.
Remember if you’re repeatedly treating rats without investigating the drainage system you may only be treating the symptoms rather than the source of the problem.
