Many of you have never heard anything from me but I'm writing this as Jamie's pulled all the hair out hes got 🫣
Firstly, we do appreciate your messages, support and letting us know what is being said. However, we'd rather not know.
We concentrate on ourselves and growing our own business. If our competitors want to talk about us, then we're obviously doing something right.
Some say we copied them, most know we didn't.
We don't claim to have the strongest prespray in Europe, but we do claim our presprays and rinses do the job, and they do it right.
We know our products are completely safe, and the real people using our products every day know they are safe too.
Despite some of the rumours that occasionally do the rounds, our products do not require a mask.
As this seems to be what's been talked about all day today, and many of the messages we've received have been based around this very subject, let's look at the numbers behind an all-in-one product versus a dedicated carpet cleaning system.
A all-in-one product is sold as a prespray, deodoriser and rinse in a single 6L container for £49.95 + VAT.
Using the manufacturer's stated dilution rates:
Prespray / Deodoriser:
• 30ml per litre
• Produces 200 litres of ready-to-use solution
• Cost = 24.98p per litre
Rinse:
• 1ml per litre
• Theoretically produces 6,000 litres of rinse solution
• Cost = 0.83p per litre
Now let's compare that to a BrightChem.
WS Hybrid Pre-Spray:
• 40ml per litre
• Produces 125 litres of ready-to-use solution
• Cost = 18.4p per litre
Acdic Rinse:
• 15ml per 10 litres of water
• Produces 3,333 litres of ready-to-use rinse solution
• Cost = 0.69p per litre
Premium Deodoriser:
• 40ml per litre
• Produces 125 litres of ready-to-use solution
• Cost = 18.4p per litre
So on a cost-per-ready-to-use litre basis:
Prespray / Deodoriser:
• 24.98p per litre vs 18.4p per litre
Rinse:
• 0.83p per litre vs 0.69p per litre
However, cost is only part of the story.
A prespray and a rinse have completely different jobs.
The prespray is designed to break down soils, oils, grease and contamination from the carpet fibres. This is where the majority of the cleaning takes place.
The rinse is then used to flush away suspended soils, remove cleaning residues and help return the carpet closer to a neutral state.
One thing we've heard recently is:
"The carpet will neutralise itself over time, around 10 days."
Whilst carpets may naturally move back towards neutral over time, why would you want your customer waiting 10 days for that to happen?
A proper rinse helps remove suspended soils, contamination and cleaning residues during the cleaning process rather than relying on time to do the work afterwards.
Your customer is paying for the best result possible when you leave the job, not 10 days later.
Interestingly, it was also stated today that using a rinse will always make the carpet cleaner.
If that's the case, then surely that raises the question:
Is an all-in-one product really an all-in-one product?
Because if adding a dedicated rinse afterwards improves the result, stops re-soiling, prevents browning and brings the pH back to where it should be, then the carpet is no longer being cleaned solely with the all-in-one product.
After all, they are designed to perform different jobs.
A prespray and rinse are designed to work together. The prespray breaks down the soils and contamination, whilst the rinse helps flush them away and leave the carpet in the best condition possible and Ph Neutral
Another point that often gets missed is how these products are actually used in the real world.
The all-in-one product can theoretically produce 6,000 litres of rinse solution, but that is only if the entire 6L container is used solely as a rinse.
The reality is that the same 6L container is also being used as a prespray and deodoriser.
Every ml used for prespraying or deodorising reduces the amount available for rinsing.
For example:
• Use 3L as a prespray/deodoriser and only 3L remains for rinsing.
• Use 5L as a prespray/deodoriser and only 1L remains for rinsing.
So whilst the rinse dilution figure is correct, the full 6,000-litre rinse capacity is only achievable if none of the product is used for its other intended purposes.
With BrightChem, the rinse is a dedicated rinse. The entire 5L bottle is available purely for rinsing and is not being consumed as a prespray or deodoriser.
A 5L bottle of WS Hybrid produces 125 litres of ready-to-use prespray.
A 5L bottle of Acdic Rinse produces over 3,333 litres of ready-to-use rinse solution.
That means most cleaners will buy multiple bottles of prespray before they ever need another bottle of rinse. In fact, one bottle of rinse can support the equivalent of over 26 bottles of WS Hybrid.
The same applies to deodorisers.
Many of our customers tell us a 5L deodoriser lasts around six months, meaning they are not replacing deodoriser every time they buy prespray either.
So whilst some people compare bottle prices and assume everything is being purchased at the same rate, that simply isn't the case.
A dedicated prespray is designed to clean.
A dedicated rinse is designed to rinse.
A dedicated deodoriser is designed to deodorise.
Most importantly, BrightChem doesn't do this for profit like some others do.
BrightChem was built to support our own carpet cleaning business and yours.
Whilst everything in the world seemed to be going up in price, we wanted to bring things back down.
There is a common belief that if something costs more, it must be better.
We don't agree.
Sometimes cheaper can actually be better when the people behind the product aren't driven purely by money.
We're carpet cleaners ourselves. We use these products every day, and we know they work.
Don't let people bully you into believing that their way is the only way, or that what they think is right must automatically be right for everyone else.
There are many ways to achieve great results in this industry, and every cleaner will have their own methods, preferences and products they trust.
Yes, we're quite quiet compared to some, and we don't do a huge amount of marketing apart from the posts on here.
That's because we'd rather spend our time doing things right.
We're busy supporting our customers, developing products, running our businesses and helping fellow cleaners where we can.
To every single customer who has supported BrightChem, thank you.
Whether you've bought one bottle or one hundred, attended training, recommended us to a friend or simply followed our journey, we genuinely appreciate it.
BrightChem was built by carpet cleaners, for carpet cleaners, and without your support we wouldn't be where we are today.
We're incredibly grateful for every order, every recommendation and every kind word.
We're also looking forward to arranging an open day in the future, giving you all the opportunity to come and meet us, have a look around, ask questions, put faces to names and spend some time with us.
Thank you again for all your support.
It genuinely means more than you'll ever know.
At the end of the day, every cleaner should use what works best for them.
We simply believe in using the right product for the right job, charging a fair price for it, and helping fellow cleaners keep more money in their business.
We will continue to grow BrightChem the right way.
While I've got you we have a couple of spaces left for training, please message me if your are interested, www.brightchem.co.uk
Best Regards
