♻️⚠️Bin collections to continue over the weekend⚠️♻️
Our Waste and Recycling collection crews have worked incredibly hard this week to keep bin collections running as normal. During high temperatures, the safety of our crews becomes the number one priority – with workers needing to take shade from the sun periodically and to have more drinks breaks. Vehicle breakdowns also increase in hotter weather, meaning the job becomes a little bit more tricky than normal!
Whilst the majority of residents have still had their bins collected as usual, we are aware that there are some streets where collections have not yet taken place. Please be assured plans are in place to collect outstanding streets on Saturday, although some green bin collections may slip into Monday (when cooler and safer temperatures are expected to return).
If you live on a street where bins have not yet been emptied, there is no need to report a missed collection, please leave your bins out over the weekend until our crews visit.
A big thank you to everyone for their understanding – our crews have reported receiving lots of nice messages and cold refreshments this week and it really has been appreciated.
