‼️ El Scorchio ‼️
☀️ As a precaution to myself and my team member, due the increased heat of the weather and nature of our job - ALL cleans for these days will be postponed to another day.
Thank you for your understanding ☀️
🌞This is just to let you know that the Met Office has raised the heatwave alert level for next Monday and Tuesday to a level 4.
🌞We would advise avoiding unnecessary travel particularly at the hottest points of the day.
🌞The Met Office is advising there could be road closures and delays, so please carry a bottle of water, sun protection and keep your mobile phone charged.
⭐️You will find some useful information and links on our Oxfordshire County Council website on how to keep cool and stay safe in hot weather.
In addition, public health advice includes:
👉Try to keep out of the sun between 11am and 3pm.
👉Wear UV sunglasses, preferably wraparound, to reduce UV exposure to the eyes, walk in the shade, apply sunscreen of at least SPF15 with UVA protection, wear a hat and light scarf.
👉Wear light, loose-fitting cotton clothes. This should minimise the risk of sunburn.
👉Avoid physical exertion.
👉Drink plenty of cold drinks.
👉If you have a health problem, keep medicines below 25 °C or in the refrigerator.
👉Look out for others especially vulnerable groups such as the older people, young children and babies and those with serious illnesses.
👉Never leave anyone in a closed, parked vehicle, especially infants, young children or animals.
👉Try to keep your bedroom and living spaces cool, by closing the curtains on windows that receive the sun and opening your windows at cooler times of the day and overnight when safe to do so.
👉Turn off non-essential lights and electrical items as these generate heat.
If you are a volunteer, or work with volunteers, particularly those that are vulnerable, please consider how essential participating is during this period and share this advice.
Personally I would say SPF50, but that’s me! And please please please don’t walk your poor dogs! If you want to walk then set an early alarm and get out before 8am and walk after 8pm (although tarmac holds heat!!) find advice at Dogs Trust
Please leave out shallow bowls of water for wildlife, keep hydrated is key!! Find advice RSPB Berks, Bucks and Oxon Wildlife Trust - BBOWT
🌞Please take care and enjoy the sun safely.🌞
