Well, here we are almost at the ned of another year. Thanks to all my customers for your business again this year, and recently your patience as the cold snap and then rain delays me.

Have a wonderful Christmas and a happy and healthy new year!

Best wishes, Carl

The current cold snap has put a halt to work for the time being, with the whole of this week lost. The start of next week looks mild but wet, so things are going to continue to be challenging for the next few days.

Please bear with me as there may well be a short delay in getting to you on time. Thanks.

Welsh Water have introduced a Temporary Usage Ban (TUB) - a "hosepipe ban" - in Pembrokeshire and parts of Carmarthenshire from the 19th August 2022.

As a commercial water-fed pole window cleaner I and many others in business are exempt from this ban under the Discretionary Universal Exemption clause, outlined here: https://www.dwrcymru.com/en/drought/exemptions whish states "Commercial customers that use hosepipes as part of their business for some TUB categories, e.g. hand car washing, window cleaning, graffiti removal).".

I will continue to provide a service whilst able to do so, but recognise that some will wonder how am I able to, hence this post. Thanks for your understanding and kindness.

There are some exemptions which can be applied, which includes people on our Priority Services Register or who hold a Blue Badge. A full list of the exemptions can be found below.

It's Christmas Eve and time for thanks! I'm always grateful to all my customers new and old for your continued support especially in what has been another difficult year. Hi all, Trust you are all well. As the R rate and numbers per 100,000 are back down in this part of Wales and I am permitted to work if I can do so safely I shall be returning to work on Monday the 1st February.

Clearly I have a huge backlog of work and I shall be starting, as before, with those that were due a clean immediately prior to lockdown on 20th December. Please bear with me as the weather will also undoubtedly have an impact too.

This terrible period continues, but there is light at the end of the tunnel given the vaccines we now have coming through. Hopefully this will have been the last break in service I have felt I've had to implement and from hereon the regular service I've given since 2009 will resume. I look forward to seeing you all. Continue to stay safe one and all and thanks for your understanding.

Hello all. I've reluctantly paused again for the new lockdown but will be back with you all as soon as restrictions are lifted.

It seems a good opportunity to thank you all for your business this year. It's never taken for granted and is greatly appreciated. Louise and I wish you and your families a very happy Christmas and a happy, healthy 2021.

Thanks and best wishes,

Carl

Due to repeated wet weather conditions both before and since the firebreak lockdown I am experiencing difficulties keeping to schedule. The constant rain has disrupted this season to an unprecedented extent.

I will endeavour to be with you as soon as possible as and when the weather allows.

I can only apologise for the current delays and crossed fingers for an improvement soon.

Covid-19 Update. Normal service to be resumed.

Although I have always been permitted to work since Friday 27th March I have been on lockdown along with many others.

I have telephoned or emailed those customers that I have details for (sorry if you were missed) to explain my decision to temporarily suspend work. Your response has been fantastic and I’m grateful to you all.

I will be returning to work on Monday the 18th May. As with before the lockdown social distancing will be strictly enforced, gloves worn and changed after each customer etc. Please do not come out to greet me – stay indoors. Please make payment online, but not through PayPal, wherever possible:

Bank A/C: 52023283
Sort Code: 09.01.51
A/C Name: Red Dragon Window Cleaning
Please use your house name or address as the reference.

If you do not bank online a cheque will be the next preferred method of payment.

Because I am so behind I shall be commencing with those customers who were due a clean next, so it may be a while till I get to you if you were cleaned towards the middle/end of March, but rest assured I will.

Attached are some links referring to what is permitted and images of the relevant sections:

Firstly, the original advice from the Welsh Govt. dated 24th March When lockdown began: https://gov.wales/coronavirus-covid-19-closure-businesses-and-premises-0

Next, the new ā€œtraffic lightā€ system announced today, again reiterating what is already in place:https://gov.wales/sites/default/files/publications/2020-05/unlocking-our-society-and-economy-continuing-the-conversation.pdf

If there are any changes as we move forward, for example with a spike in cases that causes the Welsh Government to rethink their advice I may have to suspend work again, but hopefully the future will be brighter for us all.

Finally I’d again like to thank those key workers who have kept us all going, we all owe you a debt of gratitude.

Thanks, see you soon and keep safe!

Carl

Covid-19 announcement.

I hope you and your families are all keeping well.

Until now I have been working as normal, albeit with some small changes to my working practices - speaking to customers through the window or keeping a minimum of 2 metres apart, encouraging online payments rather than cash, etc.

I work alone, on the outside of buildings whilst wearing gloves and have been sterilising my hands regularly throughout the day; I am currently permitted to work, as are many other tradesmen whose work cannot be done from home.

Notwithstanding this I have decided that I will suspend work for the foreseeable future, a decision that has been made easier by the help announced for the self-employed by the chancellor.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for bearing with me and for the custom you have given me over the years; every single one of you is valued and I will be back with you as soon as possible.

Massive thanks to those involved on the frontline, whether NHS, carers, shop staff, teachers looking after kids still in school, bin men, whoever you are - thanks.

Stay safe one and all.

Carl
