Introduction to Water Damage Restoration - DATES NOW ADDED AND BOOKINGS OPEN

The day will consist of two sessions - one in the morning (8:30am - 12:30pm) and one in the afternoon (1:30pm - 5:30pm), so attendees can choose whichever session suits them best, on the following dates:

Thursday 16th July
Friday 17th July
Thursday 3rd September
Friday 4th September

If none of these dates are suitable, don't worry, if there is interest we will run further sessions later in the year.

Remember, this is not a formal training course. Instead, John Thompson (former Chairman of the British Damage Management Association with 30 years experience) will be sharing valuable industry knowledge and practical advice on the correct procedures to follow when attending a property affected by an escape of water, specifically from a Carpet Cleaner's perspective.

We will be holding an Introduction to Water Damage Restoration event later this year — date to be announced.

The day will be presented by John Thompson, former Chairman of the British Damage Management Association with 30 years experience, alongside myself, and Ecor-Pro will also be in attendance with a display/demonstration of their drying equipment.

I spent over 20 years running a successful Fire and Flood Restoration business. It was an industry I was extremely passionate about, especially the technical side of the work.

When I first started, most people entering the industry came from a carpet cleaning background. Sadly, that’s no longer the case, with many newer companies now coming from a general building background instead.

John will be covering far more than simply “sucking out the water.” He’ll explain the correct procedures involved in water damage restoration, what should actually be happening on a job, and the training routes available to become truly proficient in the industry. We’ll also touch on aspects of Fire Restoration.

There is still excellent earning potential within this sector and, with the right training, opportunities exist to join national networks that carry out insurance-related restoration work.

The day will consist of two sessions — one in the morning and one in the afternoon — so attendees can choose whichever suits them best.

A little bit of Friday fun… 😁

Here’s John back in 1995 — just a couple of years after starting the business. Where have the last 31 years gone?! 😱

This photo was taken outside the old Chemspec Distributors premises when a local Carpet Cleaners Association was formed. Great to see that some of the original members are still going strong today, including Paul Dyson (Paul Dyson Floor Care Cleaning Specialists), Paul King at Revita Cleaning, Mark Tait and Stuart Clark.

UPDATE
There’s been no takers for this and Mark's widow is desperate to get rid of it as it upsets her every time she goes in the garage. She is willing to take 3K. The Enforcer and Tilemaster are worth that alone.

One of our customers sadly passed away suddenly. Only young and his wife is struggling and is hoping to sell off all his equipment. Haven’t seen it in the flesh but looks in reasonable condition. She is looking for 5k for the lot. Located in North West Durham.

Due to the location, the sail tent canopy had become heavily covered in green algae — not ideal with the Spring/Summer wedding season just around the corner!

Thankfully, our hugely popular Algex came to the rescue. This was simply sprayed on (no agitation!) and left to work its magic… and just TWO days later, the results speak for themselves! 😍

All of our courses - Carpet Repair (22nd April), Advanced Stain Removal (23rd April) and Dye Course (24th April) are now FULL.

Just wanted to show our appreciation for the amazing support we receive whenever we put a course on. A lot of work goes on behind the scenes (especially by the Trainers...Clinton Sharp and Dave Altomstone) to prepare for these courses so we're very thankful to them as well as to our wonderful customers, some of whom travel here by trains, planes and automobiles (sorry, but it is one of my favourite films so just had to get that in! 😁).

All three courses are always very well received. Whatever course you attend, come ready to take in a wealth of knowledge, learn valuable new skills whilst enjoying the experience along the way.
