In Loving Memory of John “Jack” Broadley

Co-Founder of Complete Washroom Solutions

It is with enormous sadness that we announce the passing of John “Jack” Broadley, co-founder of Complete Washroom Solutions and a man who had an immeasurable impact on both my life and the company we built together.

For 18 years, Jack and I worked side by side, building Complete Washroom Solutions into the business it is today. But to me, he was so much more than a business partner. He was my mentor, my closest confidant, a dear friend and, in many ways, a father figure.

Jack believed in me, often more than I believed in myself. His guidance, wisdom and encouragement shaped not only the way I run a business, but the person I have become. Whenever I faced an important decision, he was always the person I wanted to turn to.

He taught me about loyalty, integrity, responsibility and, above all, the importance of treating people properly.

When Jack retired in 2022, he left behind an extraordinary legacy. Although he stepped away from the day-to-day running of the business, his influence and the values he instilled remain at the very heart of Complete Washroom Solutions.

But his greatest legacy, as far as I am concerned, is much more personal.

Jack didn’t just help me build a company. He helped build me.

I will forever be grateful for his belief in me, his friendship, his guidance and the countless memories we shared over nearly two decades.

On behalf of everyone at Complete Washroom Solutions, I extend our deepest condolences to Jack’s family and everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.

And personally, I simply want to say:

Thank you, Jack, for everything. I hope I made you as proud of me as I have always been of you.

Rest in peace, my dear friend.

You will never be forgotten.

Half of women say menstrual symptoms have affected their work in the past year. Just 16% get any support from their employer.

That's from Menstruation and Perimenopause at Work, published this week by the Autonomy Institute and Heriot-Watt University.

A stocked washroom is one of the ways that support shows up. Vending units are the quickest part of it to put in place.

One supplier for the whole washroom.

Whatever the site needs, it's the same van and the same driver - someone who already knows your building.

Twenty-one years, family-run, covering the UK.

Not all national coverage works the same way.

When you need cover for a site anywhere in the UK, our driver isn't coming from a central depot three counties away. They're local. They know the area. They work that patch every week.

Home-based drivers, each covering a defined local route, across the whole of the UK. National reach, without the mileage or the handovers.

Twenty-one years of building it this way.

The HSE guidance on male washroom hygiene hasn't been updated to require male sanitary bins. Prostate Cancer UK's Dispose with Dignity campaign is pushing for that to change - and the pressure is building.

We've been providing male hygiene units for years, so this conversation isn't new to us. For men managing post-treatment incontinence or stoma waste, having a discreet, hygienic disposal option in a male toilet isn't a luxury - it's basic dignity.

More workplaces are choosing to add male hygiene provision before they're required to. If you'd like to talk through what that looks like, drop us a message.

When an air freshener refill finishes its 60 days in the dispenser, most would consider it done. We don't. The core is made from organic gel extracted from natural seaweed, and even when depleted, it still carries a genuine residual fragrance. Our drivers collect the old refills as they swap them out on their rounds, and before going for recycling, each one gets placed in the base of the bin unit - where the remaining scent carries on neutralising odours between services.

Two uses from one refill. The casings are made from recyclable EVA material, so nothing goes to landfill.

It's a small initiative, but it reflects how we think about waste.

Earlier this year, one of the UK's biggest supermarket chains installed male sanitary bins across every single one of their sites.

For years, male toilets haven't had them as standard. Men managing incontinence after prostate cancer treatment, or dealing with stoma bag waste, have had nowhere to dispose of hygiene products privately and with dignity. That's not an edge case - prostate cancer alone affects 1 in 8 men.

The industry is listening, and what counts as the baseline standard is starting to shift. Prostate Cancer UK's Dispose with Dignity campaign has been pushing for exactly this, and it's gaining ground.

Demand for male hygiene units has grown steadily over the past few years. If you haven't reviewed what provision you're making in your male washrooms, now is a good time to.
