Not every day is a wood sanding day, stone floors deserve some love too!

This time, we had the pleasure of working in this beautiful home, carrying out a thorough clean and applying a one-coat polish to preserve the floor’s natural matt finish while sealing and protecting it for years to come.

The floor had suffered from etching marks, particularly around the kitchen, where it had been left unsealed for years.

Etching is a common issue with natural stone floors, especially marble and limestone. It occurs when acidic substances, such as lemon juice, vinegar or certain cleaning products, react with the stone’s surface, leaving dull marks and patches that can spoil its natural appearance. In busy areas like kitchens, these marks can become particularly noticeable over time.

As always, pictures don’t quite do the finished result justice! The difference is best appreciated in person.

Another beautiful wood floor saved, with many more years of life ahead of it.

This couple got in touch with us as soon as they received the keys to their forever home in Colchester, Essex. With the property still empty, we advised them that this was the perfect time to have the floors professionally restored before moving furniture in and settling into their new home.
