Each sample demonstrates how the colour enhances the natural grain, tone, and character of the wood, while also showing the depth and overall finish you can expect once applied across the full area.
The 2K oil system provides a durable, hard-wearing surface suitable for residential use, while maintaining a natural, breathable appearance and feel underfoot.

A big project with big expectations 🕰️

We undertook the sanding and finishing of the maple flooring at the Regent Theatre in Ipswich as part of a £4 million refurbishment project. Our scope of works formed a key element of the wider renovation and was delivered in close coordination with the main contractor, architect, and wider project team.

The architect specified a dark finish on the maple floor, a technically demanding requirement due to maple’s dense grain structure and its natural resistance to uniform stain absorption. Through meticulous preparation, controlled sanding methods, and the application of specialist finishing systems, we successfully achieved a consistent, deep-toned finish fully aligned with the design specification.

By restoring the existing maple floor rather than replacing it, we delivered a significant cost saving to the project, avoiding the expense and programme impact associated with full floor replacement.

This approach preserved the original material while contributing substantial financial efficiencies to the refurbishment.
The completed works received positive feedback from all parties involved in the project, from site operatives and cleaning teams through to project management, design consultants, and the local council. The standard of finish, attention to detail, and professionalism demonstrated throughout the works were widely acknowledged, contributing to the overall success of the theatre’s renovation

Just look at the rich colour and natural detailing of this beautiful Merbau floor.

We recently completed a full Merbau floor restoration for a recommended customer in Weeley, Clacton-On-Sea, who wanted the room finished and feeling warm and inviting for the winter months while renovation work continues throughout the rest of the property.

The restoration included re-securing and gluing down loose blocks, full sanding to remove wear and surface imperfections, gap filling and a finishing process to protect the floor long term.

The customer chose a 2K natural oil finish, selected for its excellent durability and its ability to enhance the natural grain, colour, and character of the Merbau, while maintaining a clean, natural look.

What a project — our favourite, TEAK! ✨

This beautiful teak floor in Chelmsford, Essex was almost beyond saving, with over 500 loose blocks that needed to be individually cleaned and re-bonded. Once every piece was secured, we sanded the entire floor and filled the gaps using a resin-based filler to even out the surface — a necessary step after an uneven installation over a century ago.

To complete the restoration, we applied a two-component varnish, providing exceptional durability and a rich, lasting finish.

Today, we completed the sanding and repair of 90-year-old pine floorboards in Colchester, which had never previously been professionally restored.

As part of the work, we removed a concrete strip running through the middle of the floor, originally used as a footing for a wall. We then cut both sets of floorboards in a straight line to create clean edges, allowing us to install a matching reclaimed pine board. This created a seamless transition between the two sections of flooring.

The entire floor was then sanded, primed, and finished with a durable 2K commercial-grade lacquer, ensuring long-lasting protection and an enhanced appearance
