This fabulous small independent has been in business for 42 years!! The current owners took over 5 years ago and it's still going strong 😁

😢 Unfortunately Sam at Surreal Chesterfield has been unable to open today!!

The council have authorised the closure of Sam's shop without giving her any notice at all! 😡

Sam has spoken to the workers today and they have assured her the work will be completed so she can open as normal tomorrow.

Is 🤩 It's now easier to find Jades JD Bakes CAKE SHED!!

Dale from the Local business We Do More Than Print, has made and installed some fabulous signage and he's done a fantastic job 👏👏.

As you can see, Jade is thrilled to bits 😁 with the signage which now makes her Cakery & Cake shed much more visible at the top of Eldon Street.

The cake shed is open every day from 9am till 8pm (or sell out) .

❤️🫖 Did you know that Cup & Saucer, a tiny little specialist Tea Shop & Tearoom located in Clay Cross is where you'll find the BEST AFTERNOON TEA in Derbyshire & Nottinghamshire, as voted for by the public In the Muddy Stilettos Nottinghamshire & Derbyshire Awards ?

WHY?
They don't buy cheap macarons or cakes from the supermarket, everything is homemade ☺️

Anything they don't make themselves is sourced from small local artisan producers.
Jam & chutney made by Rachel at Homemade at Haslemere
Scones are made by Tracey at Simply Cakes
Jade makes all the Afternoon Tea cakes ( JD Bakes ) and Gail cooks the ham & makes all the savouries.

The table is set beautifully for your arrival with freshly laundered table cloth & napkins ( no paper napkins here!), vintage china & cutlery because attention to detail is very important ☺️

There's also a choice of over 40 different Cup & Saucer loose leaf teas, tisanes & infusions ( Theyve also won awards for their hand blended teas, which are made on the premises 🫖)

We are moving! Do not panic tho, we are going just around the corner onto Market St (I have asked myself a million times, are we doing the right thing?)
The new shop is on the new pedestrianised bit, next to The Beige Studio .

We are closing High St on Wednesday 24th June at 3.30pm and re-opening on Market St on Tuesday 7th July at 10am.

The new shop is bigger so we can stock lots more eco-friendly products but we will be keeping the same cosy feel.

So apologies if I rabbit on at you 😬
