Old Van Crew have now retired unfortunately due to age and wear and tear and looking a tad tired ….. I now have a new crew on my bumper 😬
These do bring so many smiles to peoples faces when I’m driving around so I definitely have to keep them 😬❤️

A Wasp nest today.

Inside today’s Wasp Nest.

A wasp nest is built in tiers or layers of comb, rather like multiple floors in a block of flats.

What you’re seeing is:

* One comb layer containing developing brood (larvae/pupae)
* Then spacing beneath it
* Then another comb layer starting underneath

Those layers are connected by those thin little “stalks” or pillars made from wood pulp paper. They’re incredibly lightweight but surprisingly strong.

As the colony grows:

* the queen starts the very first tiny comb,
* then workers take over construction,
* more layers get added underneath,
* and the outer paper envelope expands around it.

By late summer, a large common wasp nest can contain:

* multiple comb tiers,
* thousands of cells,
* and potentially several thousand wasps.

Loved being a part of this huge Honey Bee swarm, around 50,000 Honey Bees last May ❤️

Straight away I could see that this wasn’t a mouse or rat problem by how the droppings are clustered together.
This is bats so no treatment needed.

Whilst doing a survey on a revisit today I was shocked at the amount of entrance points near stack pipes and sewer covers.
These are too coincidental to not be activity from the sewers.
Wessex Water contacted by customer after my advice as sure these are shared sewers.
Possibly needs a private company to do a camera drain survey. 🐀

Whilst I was at a customers house today I spotted her sewer had a fault when I walked towards the cover.
The sewer pipe from the toilet has come away from the main pipe.
I called Charlie from DWS drains and he attended this afternoon to do a camera survey.
