Just a reminder to all my customers to please have the courtesy of cancelling your cleans if you're ill with a transmissible illness or at least give me the opportunity to decide for myself if I want to come and clean for you. If you are too ill to work or your child is too ill to go to school, then you're too ill for me to come into your home to clean.
I turned up this morning to a very ill customer, who was coughing and snotting all over the place, had been ill for a week and was still unable to swallow, so ill I could hear it when he spoke, and he was concerned enough to be phoning the doctors for help.
I do not want your germs, and I do not appreciate not being forewarned.
To put it politely, it actually annoys me, and here's why;
-If I am ill, I don't work, if I don't work, I don't earn, if I don't earn, I don't pay my bills.
-I don't get sick pay, I am self employed, so unless you are paying for all my missed cleans then don't make me ill.
-I have a husband who lives with a chronic condition and struggles to fight infections, each infection damages him further. I dont want to be the cause of my husband fighting an illness.
-I work with babies, young children, pregnant mums and the elderly, passing things on could be life threatening.
And whilst I'm on the subject; Chicken pox, it isn't a simple childhood illness, and as I have never had chicken pox it is likely to be worse than it would be if a small child was to have it. And to repeat, I work with babies, pregnant mums and the elderly, chicken pox is a serious illness for them to catch also.
Please think about the bigger picture.
Thank you, Kat π
