400 yards down the road is this beautiful lake that has historic importance .
75 years ago 617 Squadron spent many nights flying over the lake training to use the bouncing bomb . Very peaceful there now .

Received instructions today from a solicitor to empty an abandoned house and then arrange for the cleaning of the property.

It was a grocers and a florists. It’s been empty for years . Monday morning we are going in to clear it out ready for new occupants .
The keys arrive tomorrow . Not sure I can wait until Monday !

It’s nice to be able to pass on some good news these days .
An elderly gentleman suffering from dementia was moving nursing home from Birmingham to Cheltenham. He had very little of value left as he had downsized numerous times. His carers had packed what they thought he would need for his move . We were asked to go north and collect the remaining items and dispose of them.

He must have had some money years ago because in the bottom of an old filing cabinet was a dull coin in a plastic bag which , when buffed up a bit , proved to be a Krugerrand. I’ve never held one before !
It was a real pleasure to hand it over to his solicitor .

At this mornings price ? About £1,300.
He may not remember buying it but I hope that he enjoys spending it !

I always used to say that we were cheaper than using skips but now I’m not so sure !!
