Some customers want professional results at a price they’ve already decided in their head. Some contractors think an expensive quote is proof of quality.
Both need a reality check.
When comparing patio repointing quotes, ask what you’re actually paying for. How is the old grout removed? How are the joints prepared? Which jointing compound is being installed—and why is it suitable for your paving?
Proper patio restoration takes preparation, suitable materials and care with the finish. Whether it’s sandstone pointing or porcelain patio grout, the details matter long before the final photo.
Cheap doesn’t excuse poor workmanship. Expensive doesn’t prove good workmanship.
Who needs to hear this more: customers chasing the cheapest quote, or tradespeople who can’t explain their higher price? 👇
