Found a few of these guys lurking in stoves this week - not the keys before anyone starts being clever! Google image search brings up a different answer depending on the image crop but either way I wouldn’t fancy being near it when it was alive - it’s a good inch long. Preferable to the massive spiders ( no photos of those as they are usually still moving too fast)

Now the commute is finally starting to look like this I think it might be time to suggest it’s safe to book your end of season sweep. For those of you with flexi liners and cowls now is the ideal time to get the flue cleaned. Reduces corrosion from the soot sitting in there, beats the September scramble and added bonus makes your friendly sweep’s work load a bit more manageable!

That’s me all done pre Christmas- thank you for all the lovely jobs this year ( and a few less lovely ones I appreciate those too). Merry Christmas - hope it’s cosy and enjoyable.

If I’ve not been to you yet this year - go and check your carbon monoxide alarm and make sure it works and is in date . If not or you can’t find it - please go and get one before you light any fires!

Back to work fully on the 6th January but always at the end of the phone and a few emergency appointments between 27/12-5/1.

The big caffeine and sugar hit was strategic- the last job of the day was an ‘UH-OH’. This particular one has already defeated the builder taking out a carpet and covering most of the house in soot in the process. Let’s see what its got left to throw at me!
