CLOSING DOWN SALE 🥰
Right, this is a bit of an unusual one to write...
We're closing the shop. It may seem odd closing down something thats been a success and has grown, but read on! And before any of our current customers panic — LSW is NOT closing. We are just closing the shop.
The shop has been brilliant. Each year we've grown, and up until about 3 months ago this year was looking no different. But 3 years after opening we've got 2 months left on the lease and we've made the decision not to renew it. Sales have dropped the last couple of months, which we anticipated but we've watched mates in the industry lose their businesses and their jobs, and honestly — we can't see things turning around any time soon. Business rates, electric, fuel... it's become a proper nightmare for small businesses like ours.
So we're doing this on our own terms rather than being possibly forced months or a year down the line and upsetting people. We have sold over 1000 sofas in the last 3 years and hopefully helped a few people along the way giving away free sofas locally.
A few months back were looking at moving to a bigger shop and had 2 places in mind, actually signing for one before I pulled out...I didnt know why at the time, i just had a feeling that it wasnt a good idea but I am glad I did now looking back. We are not backed by anyone, we have never taken a loan and we dont have a huge line of credit, we run this as a family and I have to think of them first. This is what has brought me to this conclusion.
Now, a few thank yous — because these deserve a mention.
To every single customer who's bought from us and who supported us — we genuinely can't thank you enough.
Atlas Works and the team — absolute top-drawer landlords, couldn't have asked for better.
Cumbria Guide — seriously excellent marketing, we'd recommend them to anyone without hesitation.
Dennis Young and P&A Transport — legends for helping us shift sofas all over the place.
MoynanSmith Accountants — keeping our accounts straight and me out of trouble, cheers.
The Surplus Stock Shop — cheers for throwing customers our way, hope we returned the favour.
Prestige Window Cleaning — windows were always gleaming, appreciated more than you know!
Cascade Digital for building an amazing website and getting us on top on Google! 😉
And finally — The Emporium, Queen of paws and The BrickStation. Brilliant neighbours, damn good crack, and proper local businesses. Go support them.
Oh and the governent...for charging us to the hilt and giving us absolutely FA in return!
So — £100k worth of stock needs to go. Shop AND warehouse.
Come and get a bargain. It needs to go!
If you've already ordered — don't panic, you're sorted. ✅
