We're seeing the beginnings of gull chicks fledging and becoming independent juveniles. Like our own species, you'll see some following their parents around hoping for easy meals, much to the aggravation of the parents. Sometimes you'll find groups of these juveniles, loitering in unhelpful places.
Often, with no experience of real world dangers, these young birds will collide with vehicles. If you see a young gull (left of picture) then bear these things in mind, don't assume they will fly out of the way of your car.
If you had nesting gulls on your building that have left the nest then takes action to remove the old nesting material. This is often infested with bird mites, as well as other harmful microorganisms, that will now start travelling into your home to look for a new host. Call your local pest professional to deal with this safely and protect you from avian zoonoses.
