Summer heat is finally here and it’s now a good opportunity to keep your window blinds looking like new. Use the dusting brush attachment on your vacuum to remove the dust from your blinds. Best to start from the top slat, from left to right. To finish the task, close the blinds in reverse and repeat on the opposite side.

Sprinkle some baking soda inside your shoes and gym bag, simply shake it out before next use. Eucalyptus or tea tree oil can also be used to add fragrance.

With summer round the corner and the arrival of warmer weather, there's no better time to eliminate any unwanted bin/trash odours. Regularly empty bins and separate out recycling. Use a sprinkling of bicarbonate of soda in the bottom of the bin, leave for 15 minutes and wipe clean.

It sounds simple but often overlooked. Clean often and it won’t mount up into a time consuming deep clean. Be consistent, even if it is just a quick clean on occasion, you will avoid having to scrub dirt and grime that can build up over time.

Cleaning washing machines.........run an empty hot wash of 500g soda crystals, placed in the main drum to clean out any bacteria. Use white vinegar to clean the detergent drawer and door seals where bacteria can accumulate.

Now were into mid-summer it may be time to freshen up your garden furniture, from any grime or stains. Clean garden furniture with washing up liquid. Add a sq**rt of washing up liquid to a bucket of warm water and rub down your garden table and chairs. Rinse clean with the hose.

You'd be surprised how much bacteria your computer keyboard harbours. Disinfecting it and getting it clean is simple. Use a toothbrush dipped in a half-vinegar, half-water solution and scrub on and between keys to kill germs. Finally freshen up with a suitable lemon fragrance computer keyboard wipe.

Keep your toilet smelling fresh and clean; use a toilet bowl cleaner, and leave for around 5-10minutes before scrubbing with a stiff-bristled toilet brush. Also use a good disinfectant to wipe down the toilet seat and handle ensuring a sparkling white bowl and all round germ-free toilet.

Remove excess food and grime regularly from your dishwasher's interior to keep it working smoothly. Look out for any remaining bits of food after each dishwashing cycle. Pull out the bottom rack and remove it with a paper towel to prevent future build up of odors.
