Hopefully Winter is coming to an end and Spring gathers a pace. If you have a wood burning stove professionally fitted with a flexi liner the end of the burning season is the correct time to get it swept and shut down for the year. Leaving the liner clean for the longest time possible will maximise its life.

We are currently FULLY OPERATIONAL and taking bookings but very busy.

Having been advised by our trade associations; Sweep safe and HETAS that we should no longer conduct home visits, pretty obvious stuff, equally obvious that working from home is a bit of a non starter in our business as well.

As is usual we are normally busy with sweeping most of the year round and conduct repair works (mainly to chimney stacks) Our current works booked in will be rescheduled of course.

The current lockdown will impact on work later in the year, particularly around Xmas as all the wood burner flues that should be swept in the Spring will be pushed back. As a result you are strongly advised to make contact with us now so we can put you on our list for sweeping as soon as the restrictions are lifted, making sure you are good to go this Winter.

A quality CCTV survey is usually the only way of establishing problems with a flue. In this case next door had a stove installed, when they were fitting the metal flue liner they broke through the dividing wall into our customers flue leading to smoke and CO crossing over between properties.

If you've moved into a new house and don't have documentation relating to your stove or fire then call us in for a safety survey.
