Take a closer look at what’s sitting on top of that steelwork!

During refurbishment, construction dust collects on exposed beams, overhead services, lighting and other high-level areas. And from the ground, you’d probably never notice it.

That’s why high-level cleaning is an important part of our builders cleans. These areas need attention too, even if they’re well out of sight.

One of the biggest questions with a builder clean is simply - when do you do it?

Too early and another trade can undo the work.
Too late and cleaning can become another job holding up the next stage.

On our current Pembrokeshire project, ongoing works meant we had to clean different areas at different times, with some revisited as work progressed.

That’s why we don’t look at a builders clean in isolation. We look at what’s happening on site, which trades are following us and when each area actually needs to be ready.

A bit of planning makes a big difference when several plots are moving at once.

Not sure when to schedule the builders clean? Speak to us early and we can work through the timings with your site team.

It’s what gets missed gets noticed.

A spotless mirror. Clean grout lines. Polished taps. Showers, lockers and glass free from marks and residue.

And then there are the things that are easily overlooked. Hairdryers, toilet roll holders, bins, fittings and even the plants.

When a newly built or refurbished facility is ready for handover, it all matters.

Our final sparkle cleans cover more than the obvious surfaces. We work through the finishing details, making sure the space is clean, presentable and ready for its first users.

Cleaning while trades are still working

Waiting until every trade has finished isn’t always an option.

On a busy housing development, plots are moving at different stages and there can still be several trades working through them when the cleaning starts.

That’s exactly what we’ve been working around on a new-build bungalow development in Pembrokeshire.

Some areas could be fully cleaned. Others needed preparing for the next trade. And some needed revisiting after further works had been completed.

For us, that means keeping in touch with the site team and understanding what’s happening in each property before we start.

It avoids cleaning areas unnecessarily and helps keep the plots moving through the programme.

If you have multiple plots moving towards completion, we can plan the cleaning around your programme.

By the time the cleaning team comes in, most of the construction work is finished

But there’s still plenty to deal with

Construction dust can settle across high-level areas, RSJs, services, lighting, drains and finished surfaces. Changing rooms, showers, glass, mirrors, sanitaryware and fittings then need bringing up to the required finish

For the main contractor and project team, the clean is one of the final stages before the finished space is handed over and opened to the customer.

It’s where the construction environment becomes the finished environment the end user sees.

HANDOVER READY | PA Fitness Caerphilly

You know that stage of a refurbishment where it’s nearly there, but there’s still dust everywhere and different trades finishing off around you?

That’s where we came in at PA Fitness Caerphilly.

The new changing facilities had been fully refitted and needed a thorough builders clean before they were ready for handover and, importantly, ready for members.

Over three days, our team worked through everything from tiles, grout, showers and lockers to floors, drains, glass, and fittings. We also tackled the areas you might not immediately notice, including the steelwork, services, and lighting at high level.

All while other trades were still working nearby.

Because a changing room can be finished from a construction point of view, but that doesn’t mean you’d want your members walking into it just yet.

That’s the difference the final clean makes.

Handover ready. Member ready.
