Here we have some before and after photos showcasing the cleaning process on a slate kitchen floor. It was deep cleaned to reveal the beauty of the bare natural stone, we then applied a sealer to protect the stone and make everyday maintenance easy for the customer.

Today’s renovation on an Oyster Slate kitchen floor. The floor had a failed topical seal which had amalgamated with grime making it impossible for the customer to clean. We stripped the topical sealer, acid and alkaline cleaned it to take it back to bare stone before applying an impregnating colour enhancing sealer to protect the floor.

Be VERY CAUTIOUS when booking work from carpet cleaning companies advertising on your local resident page.

A long read but I feel the need to share.

Last week I was asked to reclean a house full of carpets after the customer had booked in one of these guys. The carpets were still dirty and they took ages to dry. The customer told me two men turned up in a people carrier, one stood on his phone and the other rinsed the carpets with a machine (no correct stepped process, no vacuuming and no pre-spray) these photos are the results.

So the customer ended up paying twice, the cowboy company was only about £20 cheaper than me AND they tried to hike the price when they arrived.

These adverts usually mention that their business has hit hard times and offer a discount just to get some work in. Don’t be fooled, they’ll try to inflate the price agreed when they arrive and even if you stick to your guns you’ll probably get a shoddy job. The profile is always linked to a person not a business (so no come backs) and the profile is often cloned.

So, a bit of due diligence is required, look for local independent companies who come recommended or have an assurance.

This week I was at cleaning these 100% Linen sofas. A certain level of expertise is required to succeed in cleaning this type of fine fabric and the results were great.

All too often I get calls from people when they’ve done it themselves or had someone unqualified in and it’s gone wrong, this customer knew better and called in the experts.

Loose thresholds are common and usually a result of bad fitting as in this instance. Also wear can fray the edge of a carpet and pull it away from the threshold. It’s annoying, unsightly and the longer it goes on the harder it can be to fix. We repaired this today alongside a clean.
