‘Untrained Cleaning Operatives’

We can all clean - Fact!
We grow up watching people clean and whilst many couldn’t care less about how or why you need to polish a table, others (like myself) obsess over it!
We thrive on the satisfaction of a clean home or desk.

Cleaning isn’t difficult!

However…

Cleaning is a skill!

To be a commercial cleaning operative you need several skills.

👉🏻 The ability to recognise what is important to the client you are cleaning for.
👉🏻 The ability to communicate and be part of a team.
👉🏻 An understanding of different chemicals and when and how they should be used.
👉🏻 Safe use of larger equipment.
👉🏻 When to use the appropriate equipment.
👉🏻 How to take care of equipment
👉🏻 Gauge the clients workspace and understand how it flows day to day and how their needs change as the week goes on.

Note how many of these skills aren’t related to the physicality of cleaning!

Operatives skills are taught over time.
Here, we make sure that our teams are properly trained and supported to confidently use those skills.
Our teams aren’t just shown once and left to it!

Untrained cleaning operatives are a real problem in our industry. It can cause delays that the clients don’t expect, unhealthy relationships with management and frustration that clients are not getting value for money.
