Xmas Cleaning tips !!

Title: Simplify Your Holiday Cleaning: Expert Tips from our Cleaning Company

The holiday season is supposed to be a time of joy, but it can quickly turn into a stressful period, especially when it comes to cleaning. As a trusted cleaning company, we understand the desire to have a clean and organized space during this festive time. In this post, we will share some expert tips to help simplify your holiday cleaning chores and make your home shine effortlessly.

1. Create a Cleaning Schedule:
With numerous tasks to juggle during the holiday season, it's crucial to create a cleaning schedule. Start by breaking down your cleaning tasks into smaller, manageable chunks. Assign specific days or time slots for each task, ensuring that your cleaning efforts are distributed effectively. This way, you won't feel overwhelmed by trying to do everything at once.

2. Decorate Strategically:
When placing decorations, keep cleaning in mind. Avoid cluttering surfaces and furniture with too many decorations, as this will make cleaning more challenging. Instead, focus on key areas like the living room, entryway, and dining table, creating a festive atmosphere without impeding your cleaning routines.

3. Use Multi-Purpose Cleaners:
Streamline your cleaning supplies by using multi-purpose cleaners that can handle various surfaces. This will simplify your cleaning routine and save you both time and money. Look for high-quality cleaners that are effective on different materials, such as glass, wood, and stainless steel. Remember to always follow the manufacturer's instructions when using any cleaning product.

4. Embrace Quick Cleaning Techniques:
During the holiday season, time is of the essence. Implement quick cleaning techniques to maintain a tidy home without spending excessive amounts of time on each task. Examples include "speed cleaning" a room by focusing on high-traffic areas, using microfiber cloths for efficient dusting, and investing in cordless vacuums or robotic cleaners for easy and efficient floor cleaning.

5. Prepare for Guests in Advance:
If you're expecting guests, take proactive steps to prepare your home in advance. Clean guest bathrooms thoroughly, ensuring they're stocked with essentials like toilet paper, hand soap, and fresh towels. Make space in closets or storage areas for guests' coats and belongings. Additionally, consider adding extra storage bins or baskets to quickly collect clutter and maintain a tidy appearance throughout the festivities.

By following these expert tips from our experienced cleaning company, you can simplify your holiday cleaning and spend more time enjoying the season with loved ones. Remember to plan, organize, and use efficient techniques to keep your home sparkling without adding unnecessary stress to your holiday preparations. Happy cleaning and happy holidays!

🥹Smelly Fridges no more !!!
How to Get Rid of Refrigerator Smells: 6 Tricks To Live By
We’ve all been there. Whether you forgot to throw out the lettuce before leaving town for a week or let that gallon of milk go a few days past the expiration date – refrigerator smells are bound to happen. But resist the urge to slam the door shut and just forget about it because that will make the odor situation worse.

The nastiest part about odors is that, in large part, they are caused by mold or bacteria. These microbes are invisible and thrive in places where there is significant moisture, making your refrigerator the ideal place for them to take up residence. Spilled, rotten, or expired food, along with condensation and outside humidity are the biggest contributors to a stinky fridge.

So what are some ways to get rid of refrigerator smells? How can we prevent them from occurring in the first place?

Equipment you’ll need to clean up refrigerator smells
Baking Soda
Vinegar
Microfiber cloth or scrubbing sponge
Oats or coffee grounds
Dish soap
Cookie sheet
Steps to get rid of refrigerator smells
Remove. First, remove everything from the fridge and discard any items that may be spoiled or expired. Wipe down any jars or containers that are sticky or have exposed food residue. Next, remove any surfaces inside the fridge such as drawers, adjustable shelves, or racks and soak them in hot water and dish soap as you clean the rest of the fridge’s interior.

Equip. To clean your fridge, we suggest that you skip the multipurpose cleaning sprays and opt for simpler, natural products like a solution of baking soda and vinegar, which are natural odor absorbers. Not only is this a natural cleaning method, but the fizzing action will also lift stains as it deodorizes and cleans.

To begin the cleanup process, use a clean microfiber cloth or new sponge that won’t easily fall apart. You can also use a thin rag or toothbrush to get into crevices and smaller spaces where food particles might be trapped. Quality tools clean better and help prevent the spread of odor-causing bacteria. Apply a small amount of vinegar and baking soda directly to your cleaning equipment.
Wipe. While the fridge is empty, start at the top and work your way down. Be sure to wipe underneath the drawers and scrub the ceiling, sides, and doors. Don’t forget the outside of the fridge as well, as these surfaces can transfer odors.

Rinse. Rinse the cloth or sponge with warm water and use it to rinse away the baking soda and vinegar residue where you just scrubbed. Continue rinsing with warm water until you remove all traces of your cleaning solution.

Replace. If you have a fridge thermometer, wait until the temperature inside the fridge falls to 5°C (41°F) or below before replacing the food. If your fridge has a fast-cool function, use it to speed up the cooling process.

Preventing refrigerator smells and odors
Once your fridge is clean, you will want to prevent odors from reoccurring. One way to do this using household items is by spreading a thin layer of baking soda on a large cookie sheet and leaving it in the fridge overnight. If you don’t have baking soda on hand, oats and coffee grounds are also natural odor absorbers and will get the job done just as well.

Bonus tip: use cotton balls soaked in vanilla to leave a pleasant scent in the fridge.

Another note: If your refrigerator is stained, mix baking soda with a small amount of warm water to form a paste. Spread the paste on the stains and allow it to sit for at least one hour before wiping clean.

How To Keep Your Fridge Fresh:
Set your fridge temperature to prevent bacteria growth, between 37-41 degrees Fahrenheit.
Use airtight containers for leftovers.
Label and date leftovers.
Ensure good air circulation in the fridge by organizing storage and condensing packaging as you consume food.
Evaluate your fridge on a weekly basis for food spoilage.
Your fridge is one of the hardest working appliances in your home. A clean fridge will not only make you feel better about storing your food, it makes food taste better and stay edible for a longer time.

HOW TO CLEAN A BATHROOM – TOP TIPS

A clean bathroom environment is one we all desire. But keeping on top of a dirt, mould and rust prone room can be quite tricky. It’s important to look after your bathroom though, as over time, lack of care and attention can cause permanent damage to your beloved bathroom suite. Thankfully, you don’t need to spend fortunes on cleaning products, and most things you have in the house, such as vinegar, are perfect for getting your bathroom sparkly and dirt free.

HOW TO CLEAN A BATHROOM: TOP TIPS

1. REMOVE MOULD

Remove mouldy grouting or sealant with a toothbrush dipped in a solution of one part bleach to four parts water.

Choose Bella Bathrooms for your new Bathroom Suite

2. EASILY REMOVE LIMESCALE

Get rid of dried deposits around chrome taps by soaking a cloth or a kitchen towel with white vinegar and wrap it around the tap. Leave overnight and rinse thoroughly with warm soapy water. If there are any stubborn deposits, remove them with a toothbrush.

3. KEEP TAPS SHINY

Brass fixtures can soon look tarnished so clean by making a paste of bicarbonate of soda and lemon juice. Lightly scrub the fixtures, leave for a few minutes and then buff with a clean cloth.

4. CLEAN MIRRORS

Remove caked on hairspray from mirrors by wiping with a little surgical spirit on a soft cloth.

5. REMOVE STAINS FROM THE TOILET SEAT

To remove stubborn rings around toilet bowls, use a pumice stone. Keeping the stone wet, rub until the ring has gone. Don’t try this on enamel or plastic fittings.

6. DESCALE SHOWER HEADS

Descale shower heads monthly in hard water areas where they can easily clog up. Soak overnight in a solution of half white vinegar and half water and then rinse.

7. CLEAN YOUR TOOTHBRUSH

Your toothbrush picks up thousands of germs and bacteria, even after just 1 use. So you can imagine how dirty it actually is when it’s been sat on your bathroom shelf for a few weeks. To clean it, and kill all bacteria, soak it in several tablespoons of white vinegar and leave to rest for 30 minutes. Rinse, and use as normal. We recommend doing this every other week.

8. UNBLOCK YOUR SINK WITHOUT BLEACH

Using just vinegar and baking soda, you can unblock your sink. No need for bleach or a plumber. Follow the diagram below.

We hope these tips have enlightened you, and given you some hope when it comes to cleaning your bathroom. In this nex tpart we aim to give you a guide for how to clean a bathroom successfully.

HOW TO CLEAN A BATHROOM: STEP BY STEP GUIDE

THE MAGIC INGREDIENTS!

You may have heard them banded about as the magic ingredients of any kind of cleaning, whether it is in the kitchen, the lounge or the bathroom. The multi-purpose ingredients that will help a bathroom get back to its sparkling original state are white vinegar, baking soda and lemon juice. These ingredients will accomplish whatever those supermarket cleaning products profess to achieve, and at much cheaper prices. Say goodbye to ingredients you cannot pronounce and chemical-smelling cleaning products, and embrace a more natural and wholesome approach to bathroom cleaning.

How to Clean a Bathroom

A NATURAL APPROACH TO CLEANING YOUR BATHROOM:

BEGIN WITH THE BATHROOM SUITE

The toilet is often the first place you want to start when cleaning a bathroom, for obvious reasons. It’s also everyone’s least favourite spot to clean, so get it out of the way first! Prepare your ingredients for the task at hand; grab half a cup of the white vinegar or lemon and mix it with one spoon of baking sofa, before pouring it into the toilet bowl. The vinegar and the lemon are both acidic and will both cause a particular reaction when mixed with the baking sofa; this will help to remove any stains or marks that have accumulated within the bowl. Both work as well as each other, but the advantage of using lemon for the task is the fresh scent it leaves behind.

The mixture works far more effectively than bleach or any other cleaner, which simply sits there until it is washed away. Pull on your rubber gloves and scrub away at any of the more stubborn stains, and make sure to pay close attention to the outside of the bowl, the area under the toilet seat, and the hinges where dust and dirt can gather. The same technique can be used to get limescale and other dirt off bath tubs and basins.

GLASS AREAS

Next, move onto any glass in the room. Shower enclosures and mirrors are omnipresent in many bathrooms nowadays, and they are notorious for acquiring streaks and marks easily. Using basic warm water and a lint-free cloth (the lint-free aspect is important; have you ever tried wiping over a mirror with a tissue or a towel only to find tiny particles cling to the glass?) you can remove everyday stains that appear. The hardier stains will require a little more effort; combine white vinegar or lemon with some water in a spray bottle and wipe free using the same lint-free cloth.

Using different combinations of water and natural acids such as lemon juice, almost any area in the bathroom can be cleaned, from the bathroom floor to the taps, and from the drains to the toilet lid. Forget buying expensive supermarket cleaners; the answer lies in your kitchen cupboard!

If you have any tips of your own we’d love to know them, so drop us a comment below or head on over to Twitter for a chat.

The beauty of bicarb
Bicarbonate of soda is a cleaning superstar, thanks to its gentle abrasive nature and the fact it's a great natural deodoriser. Use it to:

Get tannin stains off teaspoons and the inside of cups by rubbing with a paste made up of bicarb and a little water. Rinse thoroughly.
Absorb food odours by keeping a ramekin with powder bicarb on top of the salad drawer to keep the fridge fresh.
Clean countertops, stainless steel sinks, microwaves, and cooking utensils. Simply mix into a paste with a little water and scrub.
Deodorise carpets, upholstered furniture and even pet beds. Sprinkle it on, leave for 15 mins and then vacuum up thoroughly.
If the odour in your gym clothes won’t budge, try soaking the offending garment for thirty minutes in a sink filled with cool water and five to six tbsp of bicarbonate of soda. Wash again, and dry naturally.
To bring back the shine to sterling silver, make up a paste (three parts bicarb to one part water) and apply with a lint-free cloth (not a paper towel, which can scratch), then rinse.
