Having worked with a number of solicitors over the years, I have heard time and again that their clients were deeply distressed by clearance companies having little regard for their deceased relative’s possessions. Seeing mum or dad’s cherished possessions thrown into a skip was heart-breaking for many people.
We take a different approach to clearing a house and strive to find a new home for every personal item we remove from a property.
Unsurprisingly, this takes more time than the usual type of house clearance where everything is taken to the tip. I am happy to take the time needed to go through the contents of each house I clear, and arrange for as many items as possible to be recycled or donated to charity.
The charities who benefit from this approach are presently Scope, RSPCA, Weldmar, Age UK and Oxfam.
Whilst the time I am able to devote to clearing your relative’s home is not reflected in my charges, it does mean I can only take on a limited number of clearances each month, so please get in touch as soon as you know when you would like a property to be cleared.
We can also recommend a local solicitor who can help out with your probate questions.
