“What I actually do when I'm not cleaning”

As much as I love what I do, I'm definitely not cleaning 24/7. 😂

When I'm not working, I love the things that give me a proper switch-off.

🏕️ Camping
❤️ Spending time with my family
☕ Enjoying a quiet coffee
✨ Getting dressed up and having a bit of glamour in my life
🐾 Spending time with the animals
💭 And, apparently, constantly thinking of new ideas for my business!

I think having things outside of work that make you happy is so important.

Because even when you love your job, you still need time where you're just you.

“It's the little things.”

A clean home isn't always about the obvious things.

Sometimes it's the little details that change how the whole room feels.

The edges.

The corners.

The areas around taps.

The little bits of build-up.

The things that have gradually become part of the background because you're so used to seeing them.

Then they're cleaned properly…

And suddenly you notice.

“Oh. That looks so much better.”

That's why I love detailed cleaning.

Not because everything has to be perfect.

“Why some areas get dirty quicker than others”

Some areas of your home simply have to work harder than others.

Your kitchen is being used constantly.

Your bathroom is exposed to water, products and humidity.

Your handles, switches and taps are touched all day long.

So if you've ever thought:

“But I literally just cleaned that!”

…you're not imagining it. 😂

It's one of the reasons I don't believe in treating every area of a home exactly the same.

A good clean starts with noticing what actually needs attention.

The cleaning jobs that somehow take 10 minutes… until you actually start them.

You know the jobs I'm talking about.
You spot something that needs doing and think:

“That'll only take five minutes.”

And then suddenly you're moving things, wiping behind things, cleaning around the edges, finding something else that needs doing..

And 45 minutes later you're still there. 😂

That's the thing about those deeper jobs.

They're rarely difficult.

They're just time-consuming.

And when you're already juggling work, family, appointments and everything else life throws at you, those jobs are very easy to keep putting off.

Sometimes it's not that you can't do it.

It's that you simply don't have the time to keep doing everything.

And that's completely understandable.💜
