🐝📞 Our phones have been buzzing this week with potential sightings of wasps.
Although at this time of year it's not impossible to see wasps around, what you're likely to be seeing are queen wasps coming out of their over wintering stage and looking for somewhere to nest. Alternatively, you could be seeing bees or a type of non-public health pest insect.

If you are seeing a steady flow of wasps coming in and out of one particular area, you could have an established nest that requires treatment but it would be early for this.

Have you noticed the wasps causing a ‘buzz’ at the darts this year……?

What you’re seeing are solitary queen wasps that have woken from their over winter stage due to the lights and heating in the venue, thinking it’s spring. They overwinter in cavity’s and roof spaces, often in older buildings like The Alexandra Palace.

Contrary to the belief of the ‘Ally Pally Wasp’, it’s actually multiple queen wasps you’ve been seeing!
