iQ Pest Control were called to our customer in Brackley, South Northamptonshire. They had discovered a wasps nest in a bush in their back garden.

As they had a family BBQ coming up and had their grandchildren playing in the garden and understandably did not want to risk having an active wasp nest in their garden.

You will see from the video how we perform a professional wasps nest treatment. No one should ever attempt to do a wasps nest treatment or removal without the correct personal protective equipment. We have spoken to many a customer that has tried a DIY wasp nest treatment and have been stung multiple times, even hospitalised!!

Rats have gnawed their way out of the main sewer system and entered the property via the cavity wall

iQ Pest Control was called yesterday by a frantic customer who had seen a "rat" in her conservatory. We were on the way to see a service agreement customer which fortunately was on the same route so we were able to get to the customer within 20 minutes of receiving the call.

We had a plan of how we would catch the "rat" and started moving some objects in the conservatory. We heard some movement and stopped to see if we could see the adversary. A little round nose popped out with white banding on its head. We instantly knew we were not dealing with a rat, it was in fact a polecat ferret.

It was quite friendly and very interested in me and did not show any aggression. I got a cage and tempted it in and closed the lid. She was hungry and thirsty so I fed it a few cat biscuits and hand fed it some water.

Happily the ferret was reunited with its owner later that day, it had escaped a couple of days before so had spent a couple of nights sleeping under the stars before it found the relative warmth and shelter of my customers conservatory.

I was in a customer's loft yesterday dealing with a mouse infestation.

A lot of bait was taken which was an indication of a high level infestation coupled with the thousands of droppings that were in and amongst the loft insulation.

A common mouse behaviour is to try and hide their food from other animals so they can effectively save it all for themselves. Each and every bait box I inspected was crammed full of insulation.

If you have mice in your home or business it's important to deal with it ASAP so you do not end up with a high level infestation. Mice carry diseases and cause damage to property by gnawing.

This customer on a business park in Milton Keynes called me as they have issues with rats in the hedges surrounding their building.

The rats are being very bold with a lot of activity during the day.

Huge burrows around their bin store, this is a job that a professional pest control company needed to deal with.

Squirrels in lofts cause significant damage, they chew through cables which can cause house fires. They also gnaw pipes and timber

iQ Pest Control were called to this property as they had heard noises and seen squirrels in the roof. The culprit has now been dealt with. The nest or dray as it's correctly known as was in a disused water tank.

If you keep chickens or ducks in your garden chances are you will encounter rats at some stage.

This video was taken today which shows significant rat burrowing.
