30 hours of hard physical work!

A couple of weeks ago I was approached by an elderly gentleman who said he really needed some help, he was embarrassed and asked me not to judge him which I assured him I would never do! After looking around and understanding the scale of the work I worried that it was too much for me to take on. But after some thought I knew I needed to help him, as I knew it took a lot of courage for him to open up and ask for help.

My exact words to him were, I really want to help you but you also need to help yourself- as this will change your life in the best way.

Fast forward 3 weeks, the skip arrived and we went in hard! The first day we started decluttering upstairs, which was extremely overwhelming with the amount of hoarding over the years! BUT we remained positive always!

The house has been decluttered, cleaned and organised from top to bottom! It looks like a brand new house!

It feels so rewarding to know that we have been able to improve his quality of life and help him to feel comfortable in his home. As I got to know him and learn about his life it turned the situation from a job into something much more fulfilling. It reminded me how important it is to say yes and help someone when they need it most.

His house is now a home again 🫶🏽

Also thank you to my amazing husband who helped me, I couldn’t have done this without you! ❤️
