Article in Daily Express - Wedesday February 6th 2013:

FOUR months of a woman's life is spent just doing the ironing, a study has found.

And the pile of clothes the average mother irons over a lifetime would measue 4,094ft - four times the heightof the Shard skyscraper in London.

The study, condcted by Philips PerfectCare, found females still do all of the ironing in four out of five house-holds in the UK, getting little or no help from their partners or children.

Mother-of-three Natasha Cooke, 42, from Eastleigh, Hants, said: 'I have three hildren and a husband who I've never seen pick up the iron'.

'The amount of dirty clothes builds up during the week which means that I spend every Sunday ironing'.

Gemma McHenry, of Philips PerfectCare, said: 'There is a huge pressure on women to make sure they and their families look the part.

Creased shirts are not an option and these women find themselves constantly at the ironing board'.
