🔥 A nice little refurb job on a customers stove door 🔥

This door has come all the way from France 🇫🇷
for a bit of The Sussex Chimney Sweep refurb treatment.

Broken glass, being held in with a piece of wire,glass rope seal virtually gone and replaced with fire cement 😮 door rope seriously worn and to top it off, all the screws and clamps that held the glass in were corroded and seized.

Glass has now been replaced, along with rope seal and door seal. All screws were drilled out and new threads were cut in the holes to take new screws. One happy customer 👍

Here at The Sussex Chimney Sweep I don’t just sweep chimneys, I also service and repair log burners and multi fuel stoves🔥

This is an example of one that I have refurbished recently.

The customers chimney had been repaired to stop it from leaking prior to my arrival.

It’s a clear view vision 500 which was in need of some TLC after not being used for a number of years.

I first carried out a CCTV inspection to make sure that the chimney was safe to use, and then swept it.

I then set about refurbishing the stove.

This included stripping out the old fire bricks and baffle plate and replacing with new, followed by a glass clean and polish of the stove.

Finally I carried out a smoke evacuation test.
