💙 Happy Retirement, David! 🚌

After five wonderful years driving with us at Borders Buses in Berwick, and many more years dedicated to public transport, David is heading off on a well-earned retirement.

Throughout his time with us, David has been a valued member of the team, known for his hard work, reliability and commitment. He'll be greatly missed by colleagues and passengers alike.

This isn't clever. It's incredibly dangerous.

One of our buses recently captured CCTV footage of two young people on an e-scooter travelling directly behind our bus in Burnfoot, Hawick. The footage shows just how dangerous this behaviour is.

If our driver had needed to brake suddenly, the consequences could have been devastating.

Our drivers carry hundreds of passengers every day, and their priority is getting everyone home safely. They should never have to worry about someone putting themselves – and others – at risk through dangerous behaviour on our roads.

If you know someone who rides an e-scooter, please have a conversation with them. One poor decision could change lives forever.

We're continuing to work with Police Scotland and our local partners to tackle anti-social behaviour and keep our communities safe.

Meet Lewis 👋

Lewis started out cleaning buses at just 15 and has now been with Borders Buses for more than 20 years. In his reel, he talks about the variety of the role, the great balance it gives him, and why the people make all the difference.

He doesn't pretend the job is always easy – it takes focus, responsibility and hard work – but it's the camaraderie with colleagues and the conversations with passengers that have kept him behind the wheel all these years.
