Drains are just one way that rodents can get into your property.

When I visit an address that has rat problems I always check the drains as part of my survey.

Today I fitted a rat blocker after we identified the drains as a point of access to the address. Along with monitoring stations we should hopefully see reduced activity and the problem should be solved.

Mole time again.

I often get a lot of abuse for dealing with moles. People ask me why I just can't let them be.
Well I don't just go around looking for random mole hills and trying to kill them.
There are a number of reasons why I do what I do.

This particular mole (s) as it's turning out to be are digging up a newly laid lawn. This again you might not see as a problem but if you leave them be then you could end up with no lawn left and a complex network of tunnels across the garden which can collapse when you walk on them. I've seen it happen and I've seen a lawn turned into mud from just 3 moles.

Everyone's entitled to their opinion and that's fine. I'm just trying to explain why I do what I do. There are more reasons why I deal with moles, but this is why I am dealing with them today

A little information on flying ants 🐜

Every summer, it happens...

One day, there are flying ants everywhere. The next, they're gone.

That's because warm, humid weather triggers thousands of winged queens and males to leave their nests for the annual mating flight. For each of these ants, it's the only mating flight they'll ever take. Swarming together increases their chances of finding unrelated mates while making it much harder for predators to catch them.

Once they've mated, the queens shed their wings and begin searching for a suitable place to establish a brand-new colony.

Effective pest management starts with understanding pest behaviour.

Spent all day today dealing with rats. Indoors and outdoors. Not sure which was hotter.
