Two teenage sisters, Jayne (19) and Sophie (14), from North Belfast, have had their worlds turned completely upside down. In just two short months, both of their beloved parents have passed away suddenly. 😭
Their dad, Dominic Hopkins, passed away on April 19 following a tragic accident after a medical incident. He was a big personality, full of emotion, and truly one of a kind. Then, on June 11, their mum, Noleen Moyes, passed away in the hospital after suffering a sudden brain aneurysm. Noleen was the kind of person who would befriend anyone and always went out of her way to help others. 🕊️✨
Jayne is still struggling to come to terms with this unimaginable reality. She still expects her mum to shout down the stairs asking her to run to the shop. The grief is heavy, and nothing can replace the presence of their parents. 🏠❤️
At just 19, Jayne is a hardworking care worker who now faces the immense responsibility of becoming the legal guardian for her 14-year-old sister, Sophie. On top of their devastating grief, they now face massive financial and emotional pressures.
A fundraiser has been launched by their close friend, Daniel Nevin, to support the sisters during this incredibly difficult time. The goal is to come together as a community, ease their burdens, and ensure these two young girls are taken care of as they navigate life without their parents. 🤝
