ATTENTION ⚠️
This is a heartbreaking example of what happens when you hire a company that doesn’t understand fiber science. This client’s beautiful wool carpet was treated like a cheap synthetic, and the results are permanent. 😢
What went wrong?
• No Testing: The previous cleaner didn’t perform a fiber test to identify it was wool.
• Harsh Chemicals: They used high-pH, aggressive chemicals that “burnt” the delicate natural fibers.
• Excess Heat & Water: Wool is incredibly sensitive to temperature and moisture. Too much hot water caused the carpet to ripple and lose its structural integrity.
• The Aftermath: Because the water wasn’t extracted properly, the primary and secondary backing separated (delamination). Those dark lines you see? That’s where the backing has split, creating a “trap” for dirt that can never be cleaned away.
