During these times I've often wondered how I can help people and stay safe at the same time. It's difficult passing someone's freshly ironed clothes to them from 2m away!
However, a carer friend reached out to me a few days ago to help an elderly couple coming to terms with the impact alzheimers is having on their lives. Their dining room was filled with clothes that needed sorting and ironing.
So I got hold of a small amount of PPE and was able to help them get on top of this one small part of their lives very quickly. A small part that was having a big impact on their struggles. I didn't charge them full rates for this obviously, I was just happy to help.
I'm not sharing this to get praise or a pat on the back. I'm sharing because it made me realise that I can probably help more people. So if you, or anyone you know, needs any washing or ironing done, or even shopping or a prescription collecting, I can do that. I have a car and some PPE so drop me a message if you need any support.
As always, stay safe and I will see you on the other side of these strange times x
