A birds nest cleaned out during a routine chimney sweep. Cages/Cowls can be fitted to prevent this.

Cobwebs do block chimneys, causing fumes to enter the dwelling area which can be lethal. Carbon monoxide can push back down into the house. It is not just soot, debris or vermin nests that can cause dangerous blockages. Make sure you have a working Carbon monoxide alarm and that you sweep your chimney at least once a year.
