General Farm Worker/Stockperson/Tractor Driver:
We are looking for a new member of staff to work alongside the owner and manager who is as passionate about grass based livestock production as we are.
We operate a herd of around 350 pedigree Angus cattle and small flock of Texel ewes over a number of locations in the Peak District.
Our primary goal is to produce high health status breeding stock from home grown forage. We do this by rotationally grazing all livestock and growing a variety of different forage crops to support stock through the winter months.

Knowledge of intensive rotational grazing or willingness to learn.
An interest in breeding and genetics of cattle and sheep.
The Job:
Checking and moving livestock at pasture and setting allocations with electric fences.
Confident handling and working with large groups of cows and breeding bulls. Weighing, sorting and administering vaccines and animal medicines.
Working with breeding ewes and lambs. Sorting, weighing, administering medicines and selecting for slaughter.
Observing and treating sick animals confidently and correctly using own initiative and knowledge.
Feeding housed cattle with diet feeder and telehandler.
Keeping yards and silage clamp tidy and clean.
Basic record keeping feed/medicines.
Basic machinery/building repair and maintenance skills.
Fencing/stone walling repairs.
Pressure washing buildings and machinery
All Tractor work associated with a modern grassland farm depending on interest or ability.
Working hours:
2 full days per week ~10 hours/day to be agreed. Potential for more hours at peak times.
Every other weekend ~4 hours each day (Sat/Sun)- Generally only checking and feeding unless at peak times of year. (March-April and harvest).
