Poppies Peak District Limited – Notice of Closure

After many years proudly serving homes and businesses across the Peak District, Poppies Peak District Limited, a franchise of Poppies Cleaning Service, ceased trading in September 2025.

This difficult decision came as a result of the rising economic pressures faced by small businesses under the current government, including tax increases, higher National Insurance contributions, and constant regulatory changes. These measures, combined with the cost of living crisis, severe staffing shortages, and the highest inflation in over 40 years, made it impossible to operate sustainably.

Despite every effort to adapt, the gap between costs and what could reasonably be charged grew too wide to bridge, leaving no viable path forward while maintaining the quality and fairness that have always defined our work.
We want to express our heartfelt thank you to all our loyal customers, recent & past, and our hardworking team for their support and dedication over the years. It’s been a privilege to serve the local community, and we’re truly grateful for the trust you placed in us.

🍅 Use ketchup on rust and odours 🍅

If you need to bring the shine back to that rusted old stool, or have a radiator that needs some TLC, or have some odours such as faeces on fabric surfaces - grab some ketchup out your cupboard!

Pro tip:
Use ketchup on rusted metal surfaces and apply to the surface and leave to sit for 10 minutes. Then rinse and buff and see the shine! ✨
💩💩 For any p**p odours, wash with ketchup first to neutralise the smell and then follow up with the normal cleaning process.

🛏️ Use shaving foam to remove mattress stains 🛏️

One thing you might never have thought about before is the traditional foam shaving cream, it works!

✨Pro tip:
Simply apply the shaving cream to the stained area and gently work it into the mattress using a clean cloth or soft-bristled brush. Let it sit for 15 to 30 minutes to allow the shaving cream to pe*****te and lift the stain. Then, wipe away the residue with a clean, damp cloth and allow the mattress to air dry.

Looking after Relatives

Living far away from elderly or infirm relatives can be a worry especially – if they find help hard to accept . Poppies aim to provide only the help that’s needed, when it’s needed.

People want to stay independent in their own home for as long as possible. We work with families so that, by agreement, Poppies can both provide help and keep relatives up to date.

Poppies can help by:

📅 Making appointments
🛏️Help with laundry, make beds and turn mattresses
🛒Run errands such as collect prescriptions and shopping
🧽Defrost / clean fridges and freezers (and check sell-by dates)
🚽Hoover, mop, dust and clean kitchens and bathrooms

Because individual priorities do change we take particular care with our selection of staff and frequency of supervision.
